Re: Operation

Thanks guys. Ive got two positive outlooks I can take on it with surfing. 1/ If I cant surf again, happy days, as it will mean that I will be spending a hell of a lot more time with my kids. Maybe I can even get a long board for my lad and take him out and push him onto waves at first point, take ph...

Re: Operation

Ive sort of giving up on the idea off every getting up on a board again. Though I am keen to start taking photos with my go pro. Maybe I should go to a long board. I dont know really. The whole experience has left me in a bit of a shock at how fragile we really are. Life goes on and I will just take...

Re: Operation

Hey guys. Ive sorta been a bit out of it so sorry I have not posted yet. The operation was a success as the surgeon took a cautious approach first time round. Re: Is anyone backyard shaping any more

At the present moment I'm in discussions with AKU shaper over pricing. After explaining I don't need any software for cutting on a machine, I don't need any software for creating concaves. All I would like is to creat curves according to measurements a foot back from nose and tail plus centre measur...

Re: Is anyone backyard shaping any more

Has anyone got any favorite vids on shaping rails, as these always freak me out, more than any other part of the board, i find the rails the most difficult.

Any discussion on rails is appreciated if you guys want to.

Re: Is anyone backyard shaping any more

So glad you guys are getting into it, its encouraging. Next month my target is to set up my bay, paint with blue, make stands and a rocker stick. That will probably take a few weeks. Ive sort of been mucking around with Aku and come up with an idea which im going to bounce off with a mate to try to ...

Re: princess margaret river pro

I just watched the comp at snapper and then watched some old clips of occy and Curren at jbay. Everyone will have a different criteria of what good surfing is. It might be my age (50) and the fact that since I'm landlocked while waiting for surgery I've been having dreams of surfing. I know you just...

Re: Is anyone backyard shaping any more

Very nice salt man, I've got two projects to finish, one I started shaping four years ago and wrapped it up in bubble wrap and stored it under a mates house in case I ever stopped travellin and another will be a twinny. Re: Twin fins as go-to boards

Hey scot, this guy making the big board twinnies has done something that I thought was possible, just that I dont have his skills, plus im not looking at a 7'10, im thinking from 6'4 to 6'6, plus as much foam as i can kept in the board though with deeper channels than what is shown in this board. Iv...

Re: Twin fins as go-to boards

I hear ya rust, I know the purest twin fin riders will always say a twin fin with a trailer ain't a twinny in its purest form. Though one thing to consider is that with the correct fin placements it certainly ain't a thruster. Hatchman, this is a slight concern for me about Twiniies and channels. I'...
