Re: Beyond the Rectangle. Surfmats.

It will be interesting going to North Bali as a no surf trip away from the madding crowd. To show my wife, old Bali much as i knew it when I first went there. There are rumours of a rare and occasional surf there, so the stealth craft are being taken. A Krypt mat and a fourth gear flyer. It will be ...

Looks OK but still yells tourist as much as the Hippy campers and the Wicked vans but much more up market.

I got a subie outback and had soft racks, but wasn't camping though. Might do one of those vans if I was doing it as a singleton.

If U go to Vanuatu not really expecting to much, then U will have fun. March is prime surf time. Light winds generally offshore. Stay at breakas resort of U got no kids. Left point/reef out front. 5mins to port Vila. Another left point a k up the road. Put Vanuatu surf into YouTube search bar, ther...

Corpses in the morgue have a longer shelf life because of the amount of preservatives ingested in the dear departeds lifetime.

The new morbidly obese more so than the dear old grannies of yesteryear.

Re: What ever happened to full deck grip?

MrMik; I have had the stuff on my board in a sock on the roof of my car for a couple of hours, no issues and sometimes in my car for similar periods, haven't seen any problems. An issue than would blow it literally, would be if your application left air cells under the stuff, heat would delaminate th...

Re: What ever happened to full deck grip?

ANDY technically that is not a full deck grip, since none of the SUPurating crew ever get past the halfway point as you can see .
AGREED however not popular with surfers!

Re: Where did you surf today ?

The bar has been on for four days, the usual crowd has surfed themselves out. This morning most were noticeable no shows this morning. It was one of those soul beckoning mornings with a midsize classic surf to boot. Four hours of a session that filled the endorphin basket and my surfing matched it w...

Re: What ever happened to full deck grip?

I got some of the Versa deck grip from Riley surfboards for exactly the reason Josh talks about to see the artwork! The grip is good I have had it on for over a year in Indo and here at home, no problem whatsoever! A couple of tips is the board needs to be thoroughly cleaned and degreased and then c...

https://www.mcsurf.com.au/shopping/surf-hats/29/1 The best hat on the market. The other good thing is your supporting a surfing family that are still producing hand shaped surfboards in their shaping and glassing rooms right out the back of their shop. Bit concerned about the nappy pins for sale at...

Re: South coast this week?

I HATE THAT PUB, it is a a bastion of the town's derros, not suprised at all you got that sort of treatment. Merimbula is a town of nothing, other than retired people, those that service them and a regular influx that more than trebles the towns size in any holiday period. Even amongst ourselves we ...

Re: South coast this week?

The Far south coast has been filled with Mr.Vics, Mrs Vics and an amazing amount of little viclets on every imaginable surfcraft of all sizes. The full range, bikinis to burkas on the beach, king tide almost drownings and backpacker cases of terminal sunburn. Any of which there was none, would have ...

Re: Sri Lanka or Taiwan in April

I enjoyed Taiwan greatly, one side of the island was Typhoon swell smashed and just too big for me and the lee side was miniscule and each beach has a dedicated mass of learners that surf enmass as a social experience. good news if you surf reasonably they clear away to watch. Lots of variety when i...

Wiztig's and Fisheries Bay look really good, I might have to go on a trip.
It is local waters for the Otway, but not to worry it's a whale of a tail, southern right here at the bar.
