Re: Most consistent stretch of coast? (EC)

How old are you Jimi? What does that have to do with it? Younger than you, but older than some on here. Yeah, needless question. Just thought this topic had been recently thrashed out. Seriously, it comes down to the bathymetry of the continental shelf and configuration of the NSW coastline. QLD is...

Hello Tim.

No need to be so gentlemanly, though it does strike a sort of odd note by way of contrast.

Hows it going?

You'll find plenty on the "heroes journey" here.

Re: swellnet vs coastalwatch vs realsurf

I've looked a few times. I checked what it had to say about my local pointbreak, which is pretty much a no brainer. Optimum wind: NW. WHAAAT????????? A nor-wester is the devil wind....prolly worse than a Nor-easter. You couldn't get a worse wind. Then I checked a very well known righthand reefbreak ...

Thats the problem with the North Atlantic.

Always in the road of the storm track.

The followup systems look much better with better winds.

Any stories from the "Daka?

you've got everything so dialed and prescriptive, why not just explain your requirements to a shaper and let em create something.
Show 'em some video of yourself surfing and how you want to surf .....then let them create.

Re: swellnet vs coastalwatch vs realsurf

I honestly believe a bit of style advice goes a long way.

The bitch is when a corporation bites your style.

For instance I used to rock the enlightened garbo look but that is now very hip so I've had to re-adapt.

I like hi-vis gear as worn by manual labourers on the roads.

First signs of the summer monsoon.

an extended flat spell in QLD. This week had the unmistakable atmospheric signs of the impending season : plenty of vertical development in seaward banks of cumulus cloud. Late light seabreezes. Both models show tradewind development in the favoured area of the South Pacific inter-tropical convergen...
