Re: Where did you surf today ?

Didn't surf the weak 2foot south swell on offer, actually I did stand-up paddle along the Lennox reef with a nice kneelo... I drove cnuts to and fro from Splendour in the Grass all weekend. First and foremost what needs to be said is that we are breeding the most sickly, subterranean species of herd...

Coupla options : up the south china sea side to La Union. Mostly soft mal style waves. Pacific side at Baler. Good waves around including beachbreaks. Both driving distance from Manila. Crossing the central Cordillera to get to Baler is fcuking hairy though....I'd hire a local driver if you've got t...

Re: Where did you surf today ?

I agree with your call Don.....soon as I saw that wave on the outer bank in Pic 1 you could estimate South Straddie to be 4ft easy. It wouldn't be the first time one of these mysto pulses with a very narrow aim hit ...and again look at that little tweak of the isobars as it passes under NZ....we're ...

In Nino's we typically have weak trades Let's see what the latest thoughts are from the BOM on Wednesday about this developing El Nino. Latest talk on the street is that oceanic conditions are pointing to a strong El Nino however atmospheric conditions paint a different picture (more neutral condit...

Re: Where did you surf today ?

Hey Steve, reports coming in from the top end of the Goldy this morning are showing some very inconsistent 3-4ft+ SE swell on offer, which surprises the hell out of me, that's for sure, even more so given that you're Ballina report this morning was only indicating 2ft/2ft+ at SFB. Just wondering if...

Re: Huey is a PRICK!!!

Alot of the northerlies final strength relates to the inshore sea temp. Lower inshore sea temp, higher differential with land temp and thus stronger seabreezes as wind flows from high to low pressure. This is enhanced and abetted by ekman transport whereby cooler water is dragged in from upwelling a...

Rude, I spent a few months tramping through the Phillos. There's 2 seasons : SW monsoon/typhoon season and Amihan or NE monsoon. You're plans put you in the amihan and as such most of the Phillos name breaks will be onshore. There's a lot of swell from cold fronts and precursor lows sweeping off the...
