Re: Where did you surf today ?

bit of a perfect storm here . Sunday was outrageously crowded and packed. Monday the same on an almost insanely over-hyped swell. Monday was very ordinary here, really ordinary and with the incredible hype on Snapper/Kirra it meant a very low crowd here Tuesday, because the hordes of people who head...

Got any pics/vids, Steve?
It's been so flat hot and dry here in NC for so long I'm thinking of building a wave pool.

Re: Where did you surf today ?

god I got a good one today. it was right on the wide corner, a big wedge with a wide swinging wall, like an under-nourished wave from the June 2016 black nor-easter swell. That wave was in total tension the whole way, it really wanted to close-out and the bottom contour just held it....just a full s...

Re: Where did you surf today ?

Yeah, made in Indo somewhere, Bali I think. Not one of those Freeflights but I know a bloke who bought a Bali made single fin from sideways and it seemed to be reasonably well made. Normal pu/pe durability. He was happy with it. They'd be under the rubric of Australian consumer law if it was a piece...

Re: Where did you surf today ?

I haven't ridden one but I've felt them up....they look pretty good.
Phil Myers reckon they surf good.

For that price it would be worth a punt. Buy in person and make sure there are no obvious defects.

Re: Where did you surf today ?

I rode my 6'6" Desert Storm, god that thing really is almost cheating, such a magic Capet ride. I was waiting on the back button and this thing came right in wedging in from the ENE, like a west peak. It felt the bottom stood up and I scratched into it, then it hit deeper water filled up and hit the...

Re: Where did you surf today ?

I thought this swell was going to be an overhyped let down but it's really going all out.

onshore 4-5ft here this morning with no sand.

Swellnet is breathlessly calling it a 9/10.

Fcuking joke.

Re: Where did you surf today ?

Next week a large high looks set to direct a pretty much straight E'ly onshore flow over NENSW/SEQLD.....exactly the patten which has bedevilled us all summer/autumn. Today and tomorrow will be the cleanest days. it's about 6ft on the sets right now.....glassy/lumpy....very average due to no sand ba...

Re: Where did you surf today ?

If so I'm going to scoot up for the tail end when surfed out / rec leave used up / boards snapped / starts to set in reducing the crowds. That ain't gunna happen Pinhead. Spent the weekend a couple point further south surfing my brains out. There are a lot of hungry surfers and a helluva lot of pen...

Re: Just general surfing stuff

I think this upcoming E swell is going to be about the most over-hyped, under delivered swell ever.

Unless you like surfing 3ft Tea Tree or 4 ft Crescent heads.
