Still don't know why anyone but surfers would bother watching CTs though.

If they just manage to lock that down and solidify it that would be a massive leap forwards imo.

Re: Just general surfing stuff

A lot of things in life are not about the fcuking money: taking surfing, of all sports, down that track is a very sad moment for surfing. The very best result would be for the surfers to take a stand, and say no, this is not what surfing is. That would make them legends. They are fcuking pro surfer...

Re: Where did you surf today ?

I don't have any scientific proof but it's my observations that the new families come in much closer on the way back and I believe they are right in on some bommies and bait reefs, possibly to scrape parasites off the skin ?

True, but he wasn't CEO of UFC either.

We'll see.

This is a bold strategy and it could go any which way.

Re: Just general surfing stuff

It's interesting.

Has Joe been bought in to fatten the calf for sale?

With his background in private equity that will very much be his instinct.

But first they need a saleable product.
Hence the very big changes to the tour.

Re: Just general surfing stuff

One thing about Joe Carr that Nick omitted from his piece was his very successful shepherding of the sale of UFC to WME-IMG for 4billion and his promotion of the first UFC bout on Mainland China. Either or both of those outcomes would be extremely attractive propositions to the WSL management and Zi...

Re: Where did you surf today ?

Not by my observations. Plenty of times I've been rockfishing and had humpbacks within casting distance. In my ramble this morning I must have seen 10-15 whales all quite close in. Pretty standard for this time of year on the return journey. Shark listening stations getting regularly pinged, capture...

Re: Where did you surf today ?

I was just about to paddle out.....2 guys out.

Then saw the shark boat pull up to the drumline. Just out the back.

NSWDPI advise 2.52m Female White Shark caught on SMART drumlines at Boulders Beach, Ballina. Shark tagged and released offshore.

Re: Just general surfing stuff

I've got a feeling this Ghost is going to arrive at the precise moment the last S swell of the season fizzes out and as a prolonged period of shitt surf sets in.

I'm getting fizzy on a high performance shortboard for super shitt waves. NE windswell.

Lost RNF looks fun.

Re: Nth NSW sharks. Can they p!ss off already?

you edited it ?

It seemed interesting....what is the effect of the smart drumlines?

I think it's too early to tell but I am hugely in favour because it is continually taking the argument away from the anecdotal and towards hard scientific data.

Re: Just general surfing stuff

It's going to be interesting, because I am about to get my first off the rack poly board (assume machine shape) from a big manufacturer for years. It'll be interesting to see how durable it is. When was the last time a standardish thruster was in your regular lineup? This is a Pyzel Ghost.....sligh...
