Re: Ben Aipa stinger to restore....

Last time I was at Mark Richard's shop I noticed he is shaping what looks like a carbon copy of that board. He calls it 'da sting' or something.

Re: Portugal looks the goods.

Well that is a shame. I surfed Coxos consistently for a couple of weeks in '91 and never had a problem. Best waves I've had anywhere I think. Maybe the culture has changed a bit. Or society is. Or sometimes its just random who you get in the water on a given day. My main dramas there were bleeding f...

Re: Surfing World 297 - Independent Review

keep it up longinus I like your reviews, makes my newsagent reading more focussed. I got waves in Kerala in '88. Big brown close outs, ridden on a waterlogged old single fin one of the fishermen had in his hut. Drew quite a crowd of spectators. And was probably instrumental in getting me laid that n...

Re: i dont like it

Recently been riding the Simon again as the twinny is out of the water pending me getting around to fixing a crack next to the glassed in fin (tips anyone?). Knock it over and start again... now about the repair. :P Seriously, if it's a bad crack, and let's face it it will be in the fullness of tim...

Re: i dont like it

Interesting. I had a similar issue with a Simon 6'3 XFC initially, head plants and spin outs all over the place, after mainly riding an MR twin. Pretty much stuck it in the garage after four surfs and thought I'd give it to one of my sons when they're bigger. Recently been riding the Simon again as ...

Re: Always Enjoy Every Wave

Good old realsurf. Where we can see the best and worst of humanity, often within the space of one webpage. Sometimes even those with severe personality deficits are capable of empathy. Salty you seem based on what I have read from you to be a decent person. I believe this means your op will go well....

Re: Wetsuit outlet/seconds store

Forward planning is whats required. Buy your spring suit in early to mid winter. Buy your steamer in mid summer. Doesn't really matter where you go: previous season stock will be discounted. I got my ONeill Psycho for 30% off in Nowra last year... ( but its hell trying on steamers in a tiny change r...

Re: psychological aspects to bigger wave riding

My approach: if I know its big, I take my biggest board, my trusty 7 foot dhd gun. It feels good under my feet and I feel safe on it. If I find myself in fear lookin over the edge, for the next sets my mantra is : 'fuschia it i'm goin'. thats it i go and it works btw benzos like xanax cause incoordi...
