JJF just nailed a closeout hack on a 10 footer in front of the Winki button - that's f*cking superhero surfing.

Re: Bells Beach

Nah out of 10 for surf forecast. Bells gets 8 stars tomorrow around 7am. What are the locals saying? Who fcuking cares. I didn't see too many of 'em out at Winki just then and it was smoking. Making Bells look silly. I can tell you this, at 9.30am the Cape Sorell buoy off Western Tasmania spiked fr...

Re: Bells Beach

50 year storm and their websites not fccckn working. Anyone would think they had hired shearer to run the fccckn thing. Watch it via swellnet like everyone else. You can see it live on the wsl site. Don't register - click skip or later at the bottom of the register box. And enable trackers and you ...

Re: Bells Beach

Actually - There was only a handful out at Centreside this afternoon. Everywhere else was packed. You had to drive to Southside from Jarrosite road and hike down the hill. Got a couple of nice ones. Hiking back up the hill wasn't so much fun though.

Re: Bells Beach

Plenty of talk about whether the girls get sent out tomorrow. Some interesting comments from Maurice Cole here. https://beachgrit.com/2019/04/from-the-equal-pay-for-equal-work-dept-will-the-wsl-run-the-women-at-ten-foot-bells-tomorrow/ 10-12’ @ 17 seconds with a 40 knot cross-onshore. Re: Bells Beach

Bells / Winki is the most unsharky place I've ever surfed. True two people have been nipped on the ankles there but nothing serious.

Surfers right to be total dickheads under threat

First fines for Jetskis at Kirra, now some lawyers want to sue longboarders who don't use legropes.

Re: Where did you surf today ?

3-4 ft clean as a whistle 2nd tier reef but it was better than the 1st tier spots today. Swell was a bit unusual for surf coast - consistent SW 12 sec swell, quite. Plenty of crew on it early but forecast was good all day - so went and had a coffee, read the news, tried on some wetties (didn't have ...

Re: Where did you surf today ?

Had a mate up from Bondi for new year and he was gobsmacked about the quality and lack of people compared to the Eastern Suburbs. Do you have room for a couple of caravans in your backyard Jimmy? Only if you can reverse park them. https://media1.tenor.com/images/220e03c49c400fe7a37979ade12711ce/ten...

Re: Where did you surf today ?

Yesterday. 4-5 foot Winki, 15 sec period swell. Not crowded?! Paddled out at top end of Bells, but had bomb break right in front of me, ditched my newish stepup, resurfaced to find it in two pieces. No choice but to get washed in across the reef. Went out again on my fish. Got a couple off medium si...
