Try Fort Point if you visit San Francisco

I know wer'e talking Sydney but Fort Point in San Francisco Bay, directly below the southern end of the Golden Gate Bridge (where the girl in Hitchcock's "Vertigo" movie jumps into the bay), is also a novelty break only picking up waves in huge swells and providing a short, fast and cold lefthander....

ASP World Tour

I would be more interested if they more often surfed waves that us mortals wouldn't dare touch eg. Teahupo (hope I spelt it right) and Big Waimea rather than to seal off small-days popular beach breaks such as Northy and Manly for tournaments.

Next time you go to Bali, buy your surf gear there. You may be lucky enough to get the original article. Even if you don't it will be at a fraction of the price. Localism can take care of itself

Localism tends to sort itself out - eg. DY point locals take off behind the curl. If you don't you will be waiting a long time for a wave - no need for localism or aggro here, just skill.
