Nicely put Coasteau.... Some guys out there are freakishly talented, and make it all look so easy - longboarders and shortboarders. The common theme is 'right board for the conditions'. Riding a 'dark ages' log can allow you to make the most of less than perfect surfing conditions - in a way a guy t...

Maybe the answer is to not take part in the whole local thing..... I'll surf 3-4 times a week, at maybe 2 or 3 beaches -depending on the conditions. I'm not a "local" anywhere by anyones description. I know my limits. I know the rules. I know enough that my oversize board can take all the waves if I...

Got myself the new leash - the knee type one. I doesn't get tangled as much, but yeah, I've found the board snaps back differently on mine too - chipped my front teeth when I found out  I find it really rubs against the back of the knee too - which irritates, so I tend to alternate between ank...

Can't say I've surfed them all, but by my reckoning one point break wave is worth 5 beachies and that's how I justify waiting so long to get on a point wave (especially when folks just don't follow etiquette - that's another topic!!)

What's on the box?

I love watching 'Shelter' and dream about heading away (further) from the city, getting back to basics.

My current fave is "Lines from a poem..." - strictly traditional longboarding with a real mellow feel to it. It's made locally too - Central Coast.

KK I tend to ride it in head high and under surf, not too sucky - though I've been out at the points when it's been a bit bigger than that and it's handled it really well. It's a real traditional shape, 10' pin tail, 3/4 " wooden fin right at the end, with soft rails throughout, hips at the back of ...

To the Kalakau kid I haven't had any experience surfing epoxies, but if you're after a wood longboard (and you're ready to part with some readies) I don't reckon you can go past a Wegener (http:\\www.tomwegenersurfboards.com). I haven't tried his wooden boards, but the foam ones go great (they're ha...

Didn't bother me for years, and then I copped one on the face while body surfing - now I hate the little [email protected]@rd5......
