Re: Just general surfing stuff

I tried to read that article, i really did, but I hardly understood any of it So I'm not alone. Although I did sort of glean enough info to form a mental picture not unlike your garage Lol. From memory your garage is spotlessly clean. That's what it should look like but we keep coming up with ideas...

Re: Midlengths

Knees strong as mate (surfing wise), it's not the issue. School aged kids and a dragging, never ending house Reno is sucking me dry for spare time. Early light getting earlier and earlier so water time will increase with the early light. Being an average surfer I always find if I have a good run of ...

Re: Midlengths

Nah, but I have wrestled with the thought of selling. Why keep it if it's just sitting there, but at the same time its motivation for getting back in the water regularly, and for getting it in some decent waves it's meant for. The keel fish was the pick of the lot for hanging on the wall, beautiful ...

Re: Midlengths

What a difference a fin makes. I got a new midlength back in April - a gato heroi space pig 7'6 with a narrowed down tail. It has super thin rails and a big rolled v underneath. First few surfs, was not feeling it. Felt like it was dragging an anchor and board just didn't turn. Shelved it most of w...

Re: Midlengths

Yeah, the horror of riding a board that's got a little bit more volume than you need makes people do stuff like that lol. Ego is a powerful drug! Saw one up close, those thinned out tail rails would be a bit of a challenge but would also make for some sweet turns

Re: swimming/paddling/misc water sports.

Keep going Brendo, physical activity is completely underrated for your mental health imo. Side note, fkukking my knee was the best thing that's happened to me imo, as far as taking care of myself, as funny as it sounds.

Re: swimming/paddling/misc water sports.

Well, I'll bet they're not "fine" but I get your point. Stress itself kills. Few years ago a 50 something bloke from work, keen surfer, regular indo trips, super lean, had a stroke. Last I heard he was wheelchair bound. He was always stressed, no one ever knew why, he was good at his job, but just a...

It's cruel that people who take care of themselves so well can die of a heart attack.

Re: Where did you surf today ?

I reckon the adult learner quotient would be high at that event. I find the surfing community/tribe thing a bit weird. (Yes, I realise where I am posting.) Perhaps because I am an adult learner myself, sort of. I can see how it would be different if you grew up doing it with friends. I've got a few...

Clover Moore will probably make them close off 8 inner city roads to fit it, and put cycling lanes underneath it

Re: Kelly's wave.

I want holograms of naked chicks on the wave face while jimmy Hendrix is blaring from tiny floating speakers and the water is tinted bright purple
