Re: Josh Dowling Designs

Yeah it likes steep or a bit of push. I definately don't surf big waves but i wanted it for bigger waves ( up to half overhead will do me! ) or just hollow beachies. Feels long through snappy turns as you'd expect for 7'4" but carves beautifully. The rails are on the fine side, and are awesome. And ...

Re: Honu Boards of Bondi

I've seen the carbon jet up close. Brand new but looked decent. Will see in a few months when it's been used a bit. It's a mates so I should get a go in it at some time.

Re: Midlengths

I'm the worlds worst duck diver and after my knee injury the thought of putting that knee into the deck gives me chills but I've started using the other leg and so far it's not actually too bad. I'm 90kg and my jd is only 2 1/2 thick though, all the other mids I've had were thicker with much beefier...

Re: Midlengths

I don't have one of those but recently tried the large AM2 fins up front in a mid length quad. So good I bought matching rears, except AM1.

Imagine sharing bunks with Shearer.

Intense.
Half a day with you and he'd chop you up and use you as bait

This clip of Taylor Knox sums it up for me. When it cuts to him surfing the wave pool it’s like uuurrrggghhh. It’s becoming boring. I can’t even watch it anymore. The ocean footage is just so much better.

He's awesome to watch huh

Re: Josh Dowling Designs

http://i.imgur.com/em9VHEE.jpg Playing around in the garage. This coming Autumn I'm going to get this wet in a wave it deserves. Nothing crazy just a little overhead with some push and a fast wall. Thats my goal for next year. Don't care if I just race it down the line with no turn whatsoever, that...

Re: Just general surfing stuff

From my reading I think you ride the odd McCoy. So you're talking about your other boards when turning right? :) Jokes Oh f$&k! Lookout, here come the McCoy zealots. Train wreck impending. Are fins the most important part of a good/great cutback board? I think rails play an important role myself Be...

Re: Just general surfing stuff

Ha, here's my old man take. I was on a twin regularly before Simon smacked the fcuk out of us with the thruster. Like near on everyone, I took to it and it changed my surfing by forcing me to stay closer to the pocket. Years later and there I was, surfing with a relatively newly acquired mate who, ...

Farm with Mrs beerfan. Should've taken my 9'2" single fin but got a decent one on my mid length. Party wave with Mrs beerfan and she got up and stayed up. Nice morning

Re: Where did you surf today ?

Almost 2 hours out at the farm. Clean shoulder to head rollers with the eldest and managed to get Mrs beerfan to paddle out the back on her minimal I got her months ago. Pretty fun surf, got 4 or 5 nice cruisy waves. Ribs are toast. Keen as again :)

Re: Where did you surf today ?

Worst was a bloke coming in. Gut sliding, which was sensible, until right near the shore, about 5m away from a 10yr old kid, tried to pop up in the whitewater and his board goes flying and spears the water about a metre from the kid. I made sure to keep at eye out after that. Generally it was bloke...

Ditched the board I was riding for the last year for my 6'3" Simon Anderson Mollusc today and caught the most number of waves in ages.
That'd probably float me. The mollusc gets a pretty good review just about everywhere, what do you think of it ?
