epoxy

Thanks guys. I dunno if i'll actually do it, but a guy down the road is keen to go halves in a batch from shapers. I hope so, i'd be keen to try it. Bloody dear though, 6 litres of epoxy = 20 litres of poly lam resin!

gold rush

I'd love to be able to say i've been enjoying the big surf, but i'd be lying. My fitness level, skill level, and ball size is not up to these big waves. I snuck in 2 surfs in between the big swells, but, even though the waves were around head high, both surfs i just seemed to be paddling against rip...

the farm

It sucks what they are doing to the farm. I hardly ever surf there, even though im a shift worker, just too many people, even when its not that good, i prefer around the corner. I cant believe how close the houses will be, they go up to about 50 metres from the gate. The fact that you have to drive ...

Making boards

Surfblanks in brookevale have a 6'2, and a 6'6 kneeboard blank that does a fish nicely. You can also get a "fish" rocker in both sizes. Much less stuffin around. I cut down a mimimal blank from 7'5'' to get my 6'8'' big guy tri, it was a big mistake, the rockers too low in the nose, and to...

Making boards

Princpal skinner, do it mate, you will enjoy it. Ric was very good at telling me what i needed to know, he knows heaps!. You only need basic tools as well. My first one was a bit odd looking, but still works, and for the second one, i used a template, which is a MUST, and it will look much better. T...

Fat arse wombat

Yeah this is sounding like a good board. Ric, i got the "egg" rocker, as i reckon the fish rocker, which i have on my 6'2'' fish is more than it needs to be. Although the blank i got still doesnt look "flat". Performance wise, im not a vert style surfer ( im not a great surfer ha...

Fat arse wombat

Haha rick, im actually losing weight from surfing, and im not brewin a lot. I love my fish, but it likes steepish waves. Im looking for a board for everyday conditions. A bloke who has a 6'4'' FAW reckons its 18''n x 22wide x16" tail. I just got a 6'6'' KB blank, and im thinking about it. Thats...

Anyone have one of these???. They seem like wave hogs, and would be fun in a wide range of conditions. Any info, good or bad would be good.

egg

Hate to be a pain, but, what would be the difference in a 7' minimal, and a 7' egg???. Dimension and rocker wise?. I know that eggs have a forward midpoint, wider nose than tail, and lower rocker, but what else ",makes" an egg, an egg??

egg

Eggs are a bit of a mystery to me. Wide point forward, nose wider than the tail, just sounds like a minimal to me. What do you people consider the things that makes eggs...eggs?.

fish

Im not a really experienced surfer, so my advice comes from my experience. My 6'2'' fish goes great in small good shaped waves ( knee to head high ). I used ti ride a minmal, now i ride my fish. It is 3'' thick, paddels great, catches waves great, but it has a decent amount of nose rocker, its not f...

Bombora if you asked 10 different shapers where to put the plugs, you'd probably get 10 different replies, so, if you did it, at least you could see for yourself what would happen if you experimented with different setups.

fish

Good one max, at 6'2'' x 16nx22widex22tx3'' thick, it could carry a few cars haha. Its more than a foot shorter than im used to, hence the full volume. Salty, here's a pic of the fins, i dont have any of the other views yet. [img][img]http://i79.photobucket.com/albums/j157/beerfan/fish-is-done-3.jpg...

Startin to get used to my fish. Sweeeeet!

I've had my homemade fish out about 6 or 7 times now. So far, its been a bit hit and miss, one wave i'd be in the sweet spot, the next, i was way off. But today, i had a great surf on it. Waves were only waist to chest high, but had a bit of shape and a bit of push to them. I find that when you stay...
