Re: Just general surfing stuff

I reckon the surf industry is great at the moment. With the demise of the major players so many small creative players getting involved and making great stuff. Yep. Local "garage" style surf shops selling great stuff for fair prices. One example. Smart Leash Co. that actually sell each component fo...

Re: Just general surfing stuff

Surfstitch went down the time tested path of greed and hubris. A clever business model grows very nicely, get attention of big investors, the bucks start flowing, management gets egged on for more and more growth, they overpay for often ridiculous acquisitions, find out they can't bed the lot down, ...

Assuming the Bonzer would be your board for the bigger cleaner stuff.
Correct, so I want a quad/2+1 for a bit more snap in beachies. Considering Goddard, Outer Island or perhaps a Christensen Nautilus, which is a stretched out quad fish.

The agony of choice?!?

Re: Midlengths

Got a nice tax refund coming and I haven't bought a brand new board in 2 years.

Reccomend me a versatile not too retro middy. (Already got a 7.2 bonzer egg.)

Re: Modern Planing hulls

Guy I know (very good surfer btw) surfs a sci fi now and then.
Says it's very quick but too wide in the tail for anything except the tiny stuff. He prefers the Omni to the sci fi.

Re: that wetsuit discussion...

I've a Patagonia LS spring, bought on one of Surfstitchs rare as hens teeth 30% off things-actually-used-for-surfing-sales.
Doubt I'd buy one at full frieght RRP.
Second the motion they are a little less flexy, a lot warmer, and built to last.
