I’ve fished the southern part for some years on/off, in a tiny tinny.
My bro has a 5m Savage side console, we won’t be going outside with 4 young kids onboard, but might well put out a few big baits in the channel and see what we can scare up.

Re: Look at Me Now headland
Pro tip: on the toboggan wait as long as you can at the top to allow maximum room from the slow coach tourist in front so you don’t have to hit the brakes until the very end.
As for me I’ve got a week of boating/fishing on Lake Mac coming up.

Re: La Nina 20/21
Saw a spot on ABC news from Northern Territory weather person - expecting an “early” monsoon and a long season of very unsettled weather.

Re: Look at Me Now headland
Another quality point or two would certainly be nice. Plenty of sheltered (smaller) options if the winds are funky, but no, might have to drive an hour as wyre implies.

Re: Look at Me Now headland
I’m the last guy to ask about jewfishing.
On either of those headlands at Emerald and LAMN surely there’s some hanging about.
I do know there’s still tailor and lots of rat kings.
For fun with the kiddies try the creeks/sandflats, plenty of flatties/whiting etc.

Re: Look at Me Now headland
How’s the long range swell forecast?
I’d bring a longboard, fishy thingy and something that will cater to punchy A frames.
You’ve got a handful of backbeach options when the NE blows up.
And fishing gear of course.

Re: Look at Me Now headland
Just saw this.
What about it? Plenty of good walking trails with kangaroos bloody everywhere, plenty of surf options within coo-ee in most winds, beach/rock/creek fishing options, accomodation ranging from tent to big bucks, same with food.

Re: Nth NSW sharks. Can they p!ss off already?
IMO they could not be thriving if there was not an abundance of food.
And the tagging and bouy pings indicate the numbers are large.

There’s always lots of false exits and entries.
Not quite as many as Banks has quit shaping.

Sean Doherty writes on the DPI trials. Some big numbers on the receiver pings.
