Sri Lanka? WeWak in New Guinea is supposed to be like Noosa. Noosa? Saw some spot in Java thats a big point with a sand bottom and a surf camp. Can't remember the name though. Bali- you can go to Medowie if you want it real soft but theres lots of waves still everywhere. Just head away from the buki...

* Get a second hand glass board.

* Get an epoxy because they are more buoyant and less breakable.

Opinions please...

Its a bit like dykes on bikes. They are all attitude but don't actually know how to fix the bloody things. They then call in some crusty old biker who has mellowed from his wickedly sexist and misoginist past and get him to fix it for them

They are definitely less likely to show general wear and tear than glass boards but if they get really worked they cost a bit to fix. Plus since they are so light they do tend to feel different after a repair.

Epoxy can hold resale value more and damage less easily. What ever you get just make sure it's right for you. Having a go on friends boards is a good idea. nb know what you're looking at if going 2nd hand. Until they snap  Then with a good repair job and a spray of auto paint they look as go...

[quote="mattthe same thing happens all over the place - take up here at the central coast NSW for example... 25 years ago it took Sydnesiders 3.5 hours to drive up here, now it takes as little as 1 hour 10 mins, depending... that and population growth & movements lead to lineup crowding anyway - the...

Can I have an icecream too. :D

The guy who makes hydro fins nearly had his leg ripped off bodysurfing the wedge so I'll leave it to the young, brave and bendy. :?

Thanks for the informed advice. This all has to fit in with a few other variables so I'm not sure just yet how flexible our travel plans will be but it would only be a few weeks either way rather than months to choose from. It should be fun whichever way it goes. I might ask a few more questions onc...

California in April/May

A bit of tentative planning for a possible trip next year. Nothing like starting early.
Anyone know how cold it would be around May? Water temp plus land temp?

Is this too late for Rincon?
Any other general advice re:boards, wetsuits, food, cars, etc?

This will probably give some people the shits but I recently drove past those new developments north of the entrance and thought all things considered they looked okay. Coming from Kingscliff originally all that development drives me crazy but not the actual buildings and layout. It could be much wo...

I do fit into the demographic bracket that they target their marketing campaign towards. . http://i69.photobucket.com/albums/i76/AndrewHatch/SurfsUp.jpg You know what. I've driven through twice recently after not going through it for probably 20 years and the only change that I was annoyed at was they've stopped road access to the back beach. Personally, the place has always given me the kreeps and I reckon the beach is bloody ordinary except for the novelty value...

30 Odd Foot of Utter Shite. And oh jesus, the name of the new album: "My Hand, My Heart". If it wasn't ol' Russ, it'd almost possibly be a p*sstake. I often think earnestness shouldn't have a place in rock'n'roll. Look what happens. We get the likes of Creed & Russell Crowe. Emo for grownups. God he...
