The first stage begins with a hearty gag-out on some Padang style street food as part of the post flight hangover. The resultant catastrophic bowel actions create a high mood for his travelling buddies.
Nothing like a ring burning rendang to liven up a trip.

Now I’m paranoid because I flicked the tick onto the floor and I’m worried it’s going to crawl up my leg and bite me on the nuts.
I hope you declared the tick at customs.
The rum and tequila will come in handy.

Looks great, Toots. I'd go one of those if it was a couple of inches longer. Kind of looking for something like that.

Re: Where did you surf today ?

Started with having to remove my wetsuit once on the beach to dislodge a cockroach egg sac that had been stuck to the inside. Floundered around in the wind chop paddling against the rip on the left. Back to the right. I hate the reef at Bronte.

Thanks beanpole. Good to know.
Then you will also be pleased to know I paddled out into some mush at Bronte and had a thoroughly poor showing today.

Re: Mentawai quiver.

No argument re long range swell but to say it doesn’t break at 8ft is complete twaddle. I said “it barely breaks” you filthy beanpole. Steady on. Don't go throwing my name into the mix when it comes to your misguided wave battle with Loofy. It's obvious Loof knows the score as pointed out by my jux...

Re: Where did you surf today ?

Went down for a late swim at about 5:45. There were a few little windblown peaks at Bronte. Would have paddled out on a foamy if I had one handy.

I surfed Icelands at 8ft where nearby breaks were 4. It really picks up swell. Not just a directional thing.

a) Iceland barely breaks at 8'
b) It's a long interval spot, it dwindles when the interval drops below 17sec.

Re: Where did you surf today ?

Went for a surf at the bra today. Even though it was small, two things were evident. Less crowded and better waves. I would love to move, but Bondi Bondi has Fcuk all banks at the moment. Really struggling to even think about paddling out. Freezing water doesn't help. Might try and bolt down the co...

Re: Just general surfing stuff

Well it's a bit like skiing from that regard. Apart from thrill seeking stuff like the jumps how wide an audience does downhill slalom have outside people who actually ski?
Now a lot more people ski than surf worldwide but I imagine it's not big in Mexico or South America.

Re: Mentawai quiver.

Doesn't the swell intensity rely on the direction?
