Re: Margaret River Pro 2018

Those offshore reefs, a few go alright although a shark shield might offer a bit more piece of mind these days. Nick - given the level of performance in round 1 and 2, reckon you could finish in at least the quarters? Or is Margs just so different from what the pro's would normally surf. I think Do...

Re: Easter Classic 2018

well it might not be the "truth", it might just be what he thinks. Or not. Opinion isn't truth, it's just opinion, and heaps of times it isn't even the person's actual opinion -- just something they fire up in the moment. I bet JW didn't mind winning Snapper for instance -- winners rarely have bad t...

Re: Easter Classic 2018

I dunno but if I were the WSL crew I'd be more worried about the level of competitive effort in the men's ranks. Feels to me like it's really dulled down right now. It may be a response to the uncertainty of the WSL's plans. like nobody even has a format for that pool CT event yet. It may be because...

"Cory Wilson followed " ....then, nothing, no comma, no full stop, then more pictures and quotes.
maybe there's something wrong with my internet, but that seemed odd.
Sorry, I dunno what they did, it's supposed to read "Corey Wilson followed him through the week."

Re: Easter Classic 2018

Yeah, it was such a strange thing in a way, Mick retiring like that. It released such a strong and genuine tide of emotion among the communities of people who'd been close to Mick through his years on tour and before. The farewell night was slick but it was also very real, everyone there was just so...

Re: Easter Classic 2018

They are both sponsored buy Rip Curl and FCS so I would expect that Owen was under instruction from his sponsors. You know what, Rustt, that truly is not what happens in professional surfing mate. Hey Nick, I'm not wanting to be argumentative but! It did happen once in Hawaii and no doubt you were ...

Re: Easter Classic 2018

Is that the 2nd time you've brought that up? If it wasn't you, maybe someone else. He has a commitment to the Comm Games? If he does, that's astounding given the timing. Maybe he thought the comp would've been done by now or didn't expect anything other to have been personally finished. Still ........

Re: Where did you surf today ?

I dunno Nick. JJF has always struck me as having next to no competitive nous which, when combined with the average and unthreatening waves you get in the first two comps of the year, effectively neuters his most potent weapon - a vastly superior skillset in technical, frightening surf. As to the re...

Re: Where did you surf today ?

But what about the scale? You didn’t mention the scale. The commentators constantly talk about the scale. The other surf writers talk about the scale. The surfers talk about the scale. Scale. Fcuk the scale. It's still 0-10. They're just making it harder to get to 9. So they fcuken should. The alte...

Re: Where did you surf today ?

Oh fk it. Just tell us what you thought of the waves and the comp would ya. OK! It's not over yet so there's that. I reckon there is an enormous amount of uncertainty among the pros right now. They do not know what the future has in store. The WSL's plans are somewhat of a mystery to them. They are...

Well I've had about 17 surfs at Bells and Winki over the past six days. It's been fun but now I want to go home.
Did you work out why people were fluffing their turns in the comp?
