Re: Where did you surf today ?

Big swing in swell direction. which is weird given the consistency of the fetch direction for the most part of this low. Maybe bathymetry with the longer period is swinging it in. Happens down the coast quite often, strong south swells turn s/e and sometimes easterly when the period cranks up. Offs...

Re: Where did you surf today ?

Whooo the swell just totally re-ignited down here this arvo, went from a burbly 6' to way bigger, a bit more east angle

Got some legit 10-12' waves on a bombie reef riding a slim 8'6". Wooshh!

Re: Where did you surf today ?

Only head high and a half? Thought it would have been much bigger down there. It was macking up here. Cronulla Pt is heavily shaded from south swells. It's solid as here today. Nothing but groundswell. Cleaner, but smaller than yesterday though. That southerly wind is hanging in! Fcuken impressive ...

Re: Where did you surf today ?

anyway yeah, solid 6-8' and a few bigger, super windy in bursts, did a couple of down the face aerials, fcuk they're cool! You know, when you take off and free fall through wind, the board drifts a bit then connects.

do you talk to yourself when you're surfing nick? i seem to recall you do it when you're cooking.
Al I talk to myself all the time. It's one of the quiet embarrassments of late middle age.

Re: Where did you surf today ?

Why is that, Nick? I'd have thought there still plenty of surfers around there amping whenever it gets bigger. Seems the ratio of chargers down here is much greater. Given the overall low number of surfers in comparison, it's weird I dunno swvic, there are small packs of crew who hunt larger surf w...

Re: Where did you surf today ?

whoa, strange surf, full on 20-plus-knot southerly, some deep swell pulse from the ENE, a fair bit of scattered SE windswell, and an occasional six wave set from the SE too. All only adding up to 5' or so but every now and then something a bit larger. Guessing the ENE bit is coming off the front edg...

Re: Just general surfing stuff

Just about every big sports gambling company offers betting on the WSL. Yeah but they don't embrace it. In fact they actively avoid any partnerships etc. They have that unspeakably lame Fantasy Surfer thing which frankly makes no sense whatsoever and has zero to do with what's actually going on in ...

Re: Just general surfing stuff

nah it doesn't Al. It used to every now and then but it was usually based around whether someone had a crack at making the top 44 or not, the someone's friend would approach the guy ahead of him and offer a few grand for a heat throw. Usually the guy ahead spurned the offer. Happened maybe four or f...

Re: Just general surfing stuff

Am I very wrong to suggest that pro surfing badly needs gambling I mean how many more years can the billionaire keep plowing it in. How many more British former Rugby Union executives can he employ before he wakes up to the fact that he's been taken to the fcuken cleaners by the world's laziest spor...
