Not that I now use plugs and tak all the time and hood if it's cold. Never did that my whole life surfing in vic. And now I live in a much warmer ...

Re: Where did you surf today ?

I had the dolphins circling around me at dusk at north wall and it felt like they were creating a barrier. Next morning that blonde kid got bit on the leg.

Re: Where did you surf today ?

I reckon I've had dolphins warn me of sharks. George Greenough also has spoken of it. The myth is that when there are dolphins around there are no sharks. Nearby Dolphins being skittish and darting about, as opposed to milling around as they usually do, is a good indicator to paddle in. Yep. They k...

Re: Inguinal hernia, anyone had surgery?

I probably had mine for 10-15 years before I got it fixed. I didn't do anything to manage it, I reckon if you do keep pressure on it when you're doing anything strenuous, it will be fine.

Re: Inguinal hernia, anyone had surgery?

I've had one done. But mine got to a stage where it hurt if I was standing too long. Couldn't run. If it's not bad and you want to lift weights, just keep pressure on it. Tight jocks, can put something down em so the elastic holds against em. See what you can work out anyway.

Would be a good nth wall board imo.... if the banks ever got themselves organised again.
The Arrant Piffle. An ideal board for bowly lefts and rights.
You'll make turns that you once thought were complete nonsense.

It's going to be interesting, because I am about to get my first off the rack poly board (assume machine shape) from a big manufacturer for years.

It'll be interesting to see how durable it is.
When was the last time a standardish thruster was in your regular lineup?

Re: Just general surfing stuff

I should add I think there's a few other designers who are in that kind of league, like Pat Rawson can do all that for sure, Stu Kenson in CA, Gunther Rohn, here in Oz I think Wayne Webster is pretty much the closest thing we have to a true across the board super designer. But yeah, I do think Chri...

I don't think his design characteristics extend to the rock off, Steve.

Re: Will spring have some zing?

I had a lovely day on the log today. Little spring zippers, a few little barrels even.
Is 8'10 single a log, or a minimal by your guys standards?
I would call it upper middy myself, but as it's so flat rocketed it surfs anything.

Had a lot of trouble reading that article. How's the first sentence?
More than 50 shark nets are back in place at beaches from Wollongong to Newcastle and has decided to reintroduce them at north coast beaches even before releasing a report into the first year's trial.
