Re: Where did you surf today ?

Whiplash only exists in parasitic compensation cultures like yours and mine. In countries where no money is available, post-accident neck pain doesn’t appear to exist at all. So-called whiplash is entirely self-reported and absolutely undetectable in scans. I’m not saying you don’t have a mild neck...

Re: Where did you surf today ?

Massage hasn't helped, Cranky? I thought the place would be crawling with yoga instructors, remedial therapists and chiropractors. I had a really good massage, still got the bruises to prove it. It brought temporary relief. Maybe I've got some whiplash from that bike crash. I'll go to the hospital ...

Re: Where did you surf today ?

Fcuk yeah. Mrs Cranked, not being very statistically minded, had no confidence in her cure until at least 5 years had passed.

Re: Where did you surf today ?

Thanks 'boo she did. It turns out that the MRI scan was clear but someone scheduled an Ultrasound for March instead of September so Mrs Cranked went into meltdown thinking the specialist had found something on the MRI and scheduled an Ultrasound to confirm. It didn't help that the first time she que...

Re: Where did you surf today ?

18 days instead of 30, still four more trips to go though. Good time to be in the SW of WA though.

But where in Margaret River can I get a quiet AC room, with bathroom, kitchen and private walled garden 500m from the surf for $18 per night.

Re: Where did you surf today ?

So far it been a pretty bad March on the Bukit, and the worst in my experience and many others. Although the swell is OK, the SE trades have not established themselves at all. I also have an RSI type injury to my shoulder/neck that's so painfull I can't sleep, ride my bike or surf. Continual pain ni...

Re: Where did you surf today ?

There's been a gentle rain falling all night, it's just cleared and everything is dripping. Good, even head high swell and a light on-shore - no-one out, it's fcuked but could change any time

Re: Where did you surf today ?

Dead low at 7:30am, walked across the reef and paddled through the impact zone without getting my hair wet. Just two of us on the primo break, regular head high waves, overhead sets, glassy - we took it in turns, no conflict whatsoever. There was a group of about a dozen surfers on a safer break abou...

Re: Where did you surf today ?

It's the end of the wet season but it's still the wet season so: 1. Surf conditions (swell and wind) are not anywhere like as consistent as the dry season 2. It's very hard to predict conditions but in general it's better on the east coast 3. Surfers are mainly euros who don't come in the dry season...

Re: Sumba

Oh, that tube on the corner!

Jim said he was shitting himself, he figured he had to make that tube or die, so he scrunched himself up into the smallest ball possible and just hung on. He was as surprised and thankful as everyone else there on that day that he made it out.

Re: Sumba

I don't think Ulus is ever out of control size wise. It was perfection last year at 35'. There's a few good surfers who make the case for outside corner being a better option than gradjagan when it's really big So, the swell Jim Banks caught the biggest ulus wave, did he paddle in? What's the bigge...

Re: Where did you surf today ?

Consistent chest to overhead, glassy, 15s, no-one out.

Yawn, I'll check it later to see if it's improved.

Re: Sumba

I've never seen anyone going so fast on big waves at ulus, I assumed it was the smaller tow board that was the reason - less drag?

It was Brazilian eloy lorenzo

Re: Where did you surf today ?

I'm not having a good run lately. My strategy of patiently waiting for the swell and wind to align on a daily basis is not working. I may have to actually ride around to the western side of the bukit!!!
