Re: Just general surfing stuff

Missus thinks not. She also says it doesn’t hurt. Nurses, the cruelest of the cruel. Broken collarbone would mean fair expectation for a change of sides in bed, would it not? As I’ve stated before Swivel, unless there’s a knife handle sticking out of your chest* don’t expect any sympathy from any n...

Re: Just general surfing stuff

Fcuking cold this morning with a strong offshore, clean lines but the spray off the nose of the board was blinding and the wind was holding up the wave face and the board making take offs tricky. Got to my feet on one and something didn’t feel right, looked down and the toes of my front foot were fo...

Re: Where did you surf today ?

wow Leeg's home town is kinda pumping today! If those reefs were submerged and closer in, Scarborough to Trigg would be like a French beachie. There are a few spots where you can actually surf out there on those reefs, you need a tinny or something to get you out there. Wouldn't recommend doing it ...

Re: Where did you surf today ?

Your standard McTavish mal has a lot of tail lift and turns well off the tail. However....Steves right....get up there and go for the nose. Yeah, mine has a lot of lift in the tail for sure, just getting my initial bottom turns sorted at this stage. Try turning off the inside rail from too far forw...

Re: Where did you surf today ?

Getting the hang of the Mctavish mal now. Had a great surf this morning in nice 3 foot glass, long rides. Just gotta keep reminding mqyself to look back at the tail to see where I am after pop up. Always too far forward, adjust back a bit and gold. Wishing I got a mal years ago. Short board day tom...

Re: Just general surfing stuff

Had a nice little sesh on my mal this morning, it's a 2 + 1 fin set-up. It's starting to really gel with me and although I'm still trying to master the mal as mals relatively new to me, I'm wondering if it's the fin set-up that gels with me. I've never really been able to admit it to myself, but I d...

Re: Injuries Blog

I got a similar looking injury at work once Boo, it healed up a lot quicker than I thought it would considering the mangled looking mess it looked.

Boomerang......pissed around on the old fish. Marginal but the best on offer. The crew appeared to be transplanted straight from Avalon. Thought it would improve as the tide dropped but it got worse.
What’s going on, is it a long weekend in NSW? Or normal weekend up there these days?

Re: Just general surfing stuff

I saw that on FB this morning too. Wonder if he’s ever done others and how much of a punt the design is. He’s really broadened his design parmeters over the last few years compared the old days of the classic shovel nosed Caves and Spoggies board.

Re: Where did you surf today ?

Usual ritual body bash with the brother at main beach Southport. Nice warm water and a lot of hard work considering the small swell. Shook the cobwebs out.
