The Eddie and roys tangent

How big Roy? I'm pretty sure there is a big difference between 10 foot and 25 foot. It's impossible to discusss wave height on a public forum because most people have been brainwashed into the idea that for waves up to a certain height the true measurements are halved or divided by three, above a c...

Re: Summer. How's it lookin?

The wind forecast for the weekend has changed AGAIN. Now it's looking like Monday morning is the go and Sat and Sun will be SE. The swell forecast has picked up a notch too though and is currently at 7 foot  Monday morning has 7 foot predicted and SW/WSW early. Sweet baby jesus... :s...

Re: Genuine picture from Mentawai for Iggy.

Check the Coastalwatch front page today and the shot of Margaret River. The swell chart on their forecast called this as 4 - 5 foot. I'm calling the right-hander about 6 foot and the left a touch bigger than that.

Re: Calling all the Big Blokes!

I've just found a promising deck at the local surf shop in town, it's one of the shop's designs and the dimensions are 7'0"x21"x3" - link http://www.starsurf.com.au/l356-0/surf/surfboards/star-monstar/ Might just do the job and the price certainly is right! The only thing I am cautios of is the thi...

Re: Calling all the Big Blokes!

At 6'4" and 130kgs, you definitely want that amount of foam. Depending on the waves you surf though, perhaps it is a touch to long but the width and thickness seem about right.

Re: Dane Quitting Tour/Sensationalism?

I find it interesting how people rail on Stab. I'll be the first to admit it is up there with the Daily Telegraph for important news (and tend to focus on style over substance) but cast your mind back to the Parko ankle injury last year. Egan was there telling Stab to go forth and multiply and that ...

Re: BEST OF 2010

Before the wife was due to give birth, we headed up to Noosa for a week for rest and relaxation which coincidentally coincided with Cyclone Ului turning up. Stayed in a place in Little Cove so didn't have to deal with parking, wandered down for an early for a few hours, breakfast and relax, another ...

Re: Handplane

I use one occasionally in summer to break things up a bit. I've had it for years, 10 or so, brand is Pod. It generally stays in the boot of the car with a set of swim fins. It's a plastic thing with essentially a deep double concave, it's a pretty cool thing and enables to stay high up the face and ...
