Re: Just general surfing stuff

Funny, as I often do, I surfed alone today. I have a club-based history and I loved it and all the surrounding aspects Nick and skip mentioned, but what I definitely don't need is validation from anywhere for my surfing experience

You could be our Paul Linnman

Iggy could be our George Thornton because he has ready access to explosives

Re: Nth NSW sharks. Can they p!ss off already?

Southern Right washed up on the rocks in Warrnambool a few years ago. Took over a year before it was gone. Shark sightings/interactions still up - surfers and boating fishos. Fisho bloke I know pretty well has stopped surfing. Been seeing too many big whites

Re: Will spring have some zing?

I should try to catch a fish on Saturday then. Winter hasn't been the best this year - hanging around my neck like a sodden heavy woolen blanket. And now spring is nigh. At least there's the sun. I'm in need of it, but fcuk off daylight saving and the relentless devil winds

Re: Inguinal hernia, anyone had surgery?

I think I may have one just under a rib. Same though, can't find it, just hurts like fcuk putting on/taking off booties. Been happening for about 3 years, but haven't had it checked out. If it was inguinal, I probably would 'cause I suspect it will get worse sooner. The smaller the rupture, the less...

Re: Kelly's wave.

Turbulence, smurbulence. Legit though it is, what about the wind? Good waves and good surfs are so much better for the relative rarity of all factors aligning. When those things come together, it shall never be bettered. And then there's the adventure factor. Excepting perhaps the very first time, t...

Re: Where did you surf today ?

Minus 2 ft obviously Trev. I find the big part of the....how big is the surf scale? Discussion the oddest. I don't think Ive ever seen a wave in Australia that I'd call bigger than 15 ft......maybe 18ft as in wave face size. That presumably would be 6-8ft on the Iggy scale. Head South, old man Ever...

I took his name out knowing it'd be an easy find if someone wanted too. And then thought it didn't really matter. S'pose I should though

On the healthy bit, it is weird. It was an open and ongoing conversation - at least among mates

Re: winter

Myocardial infarction. Overweight. Always had the propensity to stack it on, but was a fit young bloke into surfing and skateboarding. Went quite sedentary a few years back - long commutes to work and long working hours. It wasn't as if he (and all who knew him) didn't know he was heading that way, ...
