Re: Fish

The aipas are the best set of twin fins for that smoking shred stick staypuft, you ll be stoked. If not, sell them to Batoes for a small profit & try my second favs: AMT's. lol. I'd have to talk him into getting a new board first. Shouldn't be hard. I'll post when I get the chance to take it out. H...

Re: Fish

On the advice of someone who I will hold solely responsible for any failures I have on this board (he knows who he is), I got a set of Akila Aipas. But seriously, the description of the aipas sounds right, given that the board is meant to be more high-performance than a groveller, and I thought the ...

Re: Fish

Bought this board second-hand off ebay last week: http://sunhousesurf.tumblr.com/post/972 ... yback-1050

My first fish, my first twinnie. Bloody terrified that I'm just going to massively kook out. Can't wait, though. Could be swell this Sunday :-)(

Re: Another pointless volume thread/rambling

Millers look good too, v skate could work well. I'm a bit late into this, but I have a v-skate, 6'4" x 20" x 2 9/16". It's pretty knocked about which is why I don't sell it. I figure I'll keep it in case I find myself recovering from an injury, or I need a board for a visiting friend or something. ...

I'd like to try a Russ Short, but this one's way too much volume for me, unfortunately.

And gone. It'll be interesting to see how many from the recent shaping tour come up for sale over the next few months, and how much they'll fetch.

That price has dropped since Gecko's post. Was $825 earlier, now he's asking $785.

Re: bonzers.....the quad fad is over

I was gonna bid on that but missed the auction's end - too busy surfing the bumble bee out at the farm. Only three of us out at death, it cleaned up a little and we had one of those unexpected patches where wave after wave suddenly starts rolling through. I'm like you, Jet, have been pulling off my ...

Re: Anyone ridden a Mackie side cut fish?

Jesus, Jet, you're making me feel guilty. It happens that I own a bonzer egg 5 fin, 6'4" x 20 3/8" x 2 7/8". I don't surf it much, but I'm not quite ready to sell it yet, though I have considered it, particularly to raise funds for buying other temptations I come across. But I'm holding off to use i...

Re: 2nd board

I third the Miller suggestion. After two years of surfing, I spoke to Grant about a custom. He asked me how often I surf and where, what I was currently capable of etc, then made me a board which did exactly what he said it would. I progressed on it at exactly the rate he predicted and it helped me ...

Re: Guns.

I'm no expert on riding big waves, but after snapping my good wave board a couple of months ago, I replaced it with a Haydenshapes Golden Gun, thinking that I'd need something for those occasional opportunities. I took it out for the first time today in the hope of bigger waves, or at least to just ...

6' McCoy nugget $230

6' x 19 1⁄2" x 2 9⁄16" It's in reasonable, used condition. A few professional repairs were done by the previous owner and it has the usual depressions. I'm looking for $230. It was shaped by Darren Rogers which I think explains why dims are a bit smaller than Geoff's usual. I wanted to try out the f...

Re: bonzers.....the quad fad is over

TSND also has a 5'10" Bumblebee listed - 5'10" x 21" x 2 7/8. I don't know what you're looking for, Drailed, but in case you're thinking that 5'10" is too little, the 5'8" I got has plenty of volume. The shortest board I've ever owned was a 5'10" McCoy potbelly, and the 5'8" BB floats me just as wel...

Re: bonzers.....the quad fad is over

It's second-hand. I borrowed batoes' board for a couple of waves the other day and was intrigued, so when this popped up for sale later the same day, I figured the universe was telling me to buy a bumblebee. It's 5'8" x 20 3/4" x 2 9/16" which is a shorter than I'd normally go, but... I'm hoping it ...

There's a 6'2" x 21" x 2 1/2" f-skate on ebay if you're interested, Petulance.
