Re: Midlengths

A bit of a thread dig, but considering a Firewire seaaxe, which doesn't look too terrible for a popout (ie, not a mini-mal).

Anyone got/ridden one of these?

No you'll need a 3/2 steamer. Maybe in Feb you'll get a few days when you could wear a spring suit or board shorts and a vest.
Thankyou Sir!!

Re: Wetsuit for NZ later November - Taranaki area

Jumping on this bandwagon - we are heading to the Coromandel area over XMAS (Whangamata).
Will a springy suffice?

Re: Non standard longboards, show them here

This is, or was  my Frank Latta/Skipp longboard (8'6"x 22 x 2 1/2). Obviously not a noserider but it had beautiful, fine shortboard like rails, big double concaves, lots of rocker and just loved to turn. Such a fast board that worked well from 1 foot dribble to well overhead. Easily the best bo...

DP Goldfish - 6"4"

Dylan Parese (DP), Goldfish surfboard. 6'4" x 20 3/4" x 2 5/8" (approx 36ltrs volume). Hybrid fish style board - fuller outline & very flat rockered so paddles extremely well, but still with shortboard style rails so turns well & handles bigger stuff too. 5 fin boxes. Looking for $200. Board can be ...

Re: sell me your board - budget $250 tops

I've also got one going spare if the others don't work out.

It's a Dylan Parese (DP) Goldfish. 6'4" x 20 3/4 x 2 5/8. 36ltrs.
Round tail, fuller outline & flat rocker. It's a good everyday beachie board.

Re: Get this!

Yes I would. I really would. Not sure, but I think my wife responded to a very kind offer from Roy to send one over here for testing. Not sure because she's still asleep, and I know she fancies Roy as being a bit of hot gear and might have said something embarrassing on a Facebook page I never chec...

Re: Get this!

Again - and I'm not trying to be a prick - but what are you trying to test in the pool? What were you looking for before you jumped in? And how, if at all, will you be able to correlate the minor differences you may find to how it surfs? I'm with Steve on this one, just surf em and see which you lik...

Re: Get this!

then make it move in the tightest possible figure-8 pattern, as fast as possible, while using the least amount of force. ....I might be wrong, but I think this test could reflect how well a fin will do for short-arc surfing and/or pivoting. Why does a fin that requires the least amount of force mak...

Re: 6'10" McCoy Nugget

Hi ctd, I’d definitely go the other way – in my opinion the nuggets handle bigger stuff really well. Whilst lots of people seem to be drawn to them in little conditions because of the beefy mini-mal type dimensions, there are probably better options in really small junky stuff (ie, a mal). Although ...

6'10" McCoy Nugget

McCoy Nugget - 6'10" x 21 1/4" x 3 1/16. Its a Rogers shaped one, so has slightly less rocker and slightly less full rails compared to the Geoff shaped ones. One professional repair on the nose, otherwise in excellent condition. Obviously its a great paddler and gets in to waves ridiculously early -...
