Re: post your modern day sickness
Interesting to see old baldy reaching for his five finner square-tail again at snapper recently. He surfed the thing damn well too. Does he ever surf anything badly? Must say I have watched the odd Qik highlight video and a host of others and whilst you can't question the ability and finess of just...

Re: Six channels
Thinking of getting an Al byrne 6 six channel as a step up/semi gun. Maybe a 6'5 or 6'6 round tail. The main waves it would be for the points when they light up (SEQ/Nth NSW) as it would be good to have some more speed on my back hand. Whats the go with channels on steep wedgy beachies? Eg. Solid T...

Re: more stolen stuff
hey mark. sorry to hear about your car. Keep an eye out everywhere for it. I had mine stolen from my unit in cooly a few weeks ago. Heard nothing for two weeks and thought it was gone, burnt out somehwere. Then driving home one afternoon i spotted it getting filed up by some junky at servo. I took t...

How early/late for North Shore?
Throwing round a few ideas for a surf trip later in the year around sept/oct. Have done indo and know i will score some good waves if i go again but looking at doing something different especially with the good aussie dollar. How early does the Northern Hemi start sending down swells to Hawaii? I wa...

Re: Where did you surf today ?
Have never surfed it but i heard cyrils gets pretty hollow in the right conditions. Have surfed big left and yes it is a big roller which is only good for cutbacks.. or cruising on a mal.

Cant believe they were on your bank when the whole 5-10k stretch would of been empty!

Re: Where did you surf today ?
The old razor back track hey. Been there a few times on my winter trips and frooze my ass off on those very same cliffs. Very much off the beaten track and mostly local fellas only and i have been lucky enough to be staying with them in the local town. Breaks up the long lined swell and on its day a...

Re: Internet, phones and crowds
I agree with not naming spots in forecasts. Keep with the directions etc and let people join the dots. Saturday was a different affair. The spot in question was about the only place within an hour or two which really handled the conditions well. If the swell was from the east i doubt there would of ...

Re: Surf casualities - creepy surf breaks
Boulders in QLD for sure. Sitting out there, the tip of the cape, middle of no where with so much wildlife around is very scary. I remember surfing waves and at the end you would be standing up tall to see if you can spot something floating around. Most times you'd spot a boulder down the line amoun...

Re: Riding Motor Bike in Bali
Dont bother with a bike. especially if there is two of you. I hired a pimping APV van cheap as for 150,000 a day and drove. Way better as if the surf is big you can bring both your shorty and a gun, you can lock your car with your boards if you want to check some spots by foot and you have aircon an...

Re: Goofy footer turning into a regular.
EkKa there is no connection between goofyfootedness and left-handedness. what's wrong with pushing your skatey with your front foot? i do it. i know plenty of people that do it. my experience is that people who try more than one board discipline push with the front foot. guys who are skaters only t...

Re: short arm short leg wesuit in Indo - too hot?
You'd be pretty hot most of the time, especially after about 9. Last year i remember just sitting in the water on the bukit feeling the sun nailing down like you were in a microwave. The water is like a bath so it wont help splashing in your wetty cooling you down. Having said that, i surfed spot on...
