Re: Injuries Blog

/\ thanks . Will bite the bullet and get a pair. They're typically only around $50-$60 bucks. Beats carving your feet up on low tide rocks offs

Oh I hate them too. But I'm in the market for a pair. At the moment all I have are these clumsy too-high pair of okespors I got in France in '91

Anyone recommend a pair of booties that feel "invisible" ?

"the surgeon's table at Lance's Right" Horrible patch of reef. Remember taking off deeper than I should've, got sucked up the face and ragdolled inside the barrel then spat out on to the surgeons table. legrope got tangled around a reef boil, and had to wear three sets of double overhead w...

Injuries Blog

Couldn't find a thread dedictated to this overdue cause so best to create one then. Document your surfing injuries here with full commentary and gore as it happens. Very tame effort on my part to get things started. Sea Urchin Molestations from Walking Out / Rocking Off. No other injury to self or b...

Re: princess margaret river pro

I nearly pulled the trigger on that exact board a few years ago. The Margo nugget and same dimensions. The base stores used to stock them. Margo's surfing is epic. My top three of all time. 1) Curren 2) Margo 3) Occy Didn't expect your all time list to be all thruster riders, but hard to argue with...

Re: princess margaret river pro

bells is an unreal wave to surf. nothing like those big walls. the modern pros seem to miss the point of them. not the old school guys but. Sunny, Occy, Egan, Hoy, Curren, Carroll etc ... they had the place wired. i remember seeing margo out there on a 6-8ft swell, mighta been when ganey was shooti...

Re: Where did you surf today ?

Chucked a sickie and scored some decent waves.
Illawarra reef point at a solid four foot. Then forty mins further south to a cove righthand reef at solid three foot with only two others out.

Re: Where did you surf today ?

Shoulder high and building SSE swell with some clean walled up runners breaking right and left with the pick sets breaking all the way to the beach . Mini mal heaven, real gliders . Must've bagged 20 or more waves in just over an hour. Did you get out there loof ?

Re: Just general surfing stuff

Really don't know what to make of this. I love the look of longboarding-done-well, but this looks overdone, and anything but elegant. Skilful. No doubt. But it all looks frantic, and like they've made unnecessary hardwork out of a nice little pointbreak peeler. https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story...

Re: Gary McNeill

how does it go surfing top-to-bottom lines tight in the pocket? as i'm hesitant about quads, as i'd spent about 3 years surfing quads almost 100% of the time. found them fast-as-hell down the line, with heaps of drive, but eventually realised that they also seemed to lack that accurate on-point pivo...

Re: Gary McNeill

anyone ridden a rounded pintail entity quad ? it's looking like a good all-rounder option for average-to-good waves and also as a decent option for a step-up shorty, all for only $595 (or $969 with trippy graphics)

i fell out of love with quads a few years back, but they look pretty tasty.

Re: Where did you surf today ?

Solo session early this morning at the north end. Super messy but a long walling left amongst it if you were in the right spot. It was a tough gig with lots of water moving. 4-5 foot, not all that powerful. More like a scaled up version of small mushy summer windswell.

Re: Where did you surf today ?

Somewhat semi-protected south coast righthand reef with a couple of old kneeboarders. Nothing flash but still better than anything around here
