Re: Kelly's wave.

@ loof. Hardly. I ride single fins nearly half the time because I prefer simplicity and flow over pushing the performance envelope. Though in a perfect wave pool wave I'd see it as a cheaper more disposal medium than an ocean wave therefore be prepared to waste a bunch of them just to see if I could...

Re: Kelly's wave.

I'd have a go at surfing a wave pool. A small perfect wave may provide the means of pushing your own performance envelope a bit, example; busting the fins out on a vert snap. Whereas with an ocean wave, particularly in a packed line up I'd be more inclined to play it safe, focusing on flow and lengt...

Re: Just general surfing stuff

Pro surfers bogging rails and doing filler cutties in 1 foot trestles? sounds like they should be on mini mals out there!

Re: Just general surfing stuff

These S-Wings fins look a trip. Anyone tried them? Look pretty drivey coming out of turn.

Re: Where did you surf today ?

There were a lot of straight pocketless ones also. Swell needs to dial east a bit, even a fraction.

Re: Where did you surf today ?

Had a quick look again just before sunset. It'd picked up a foot but also straightened out quite a lot. If only it had just a few degrees of east in the swell then it would've been cooking. https://s26.postimg.org/ri19mfzfd/IMG_1003.jpg https://s26.postimg.org/uaz2k7p5l/IMG_1005.jpg https://s26.post...

Re: Where did you surf today ?

Yep. Just the right amount of size and fetch in the south swell for the banks to cook. Not too small as to be a fat backwasher. Not too strong as to be a straighthander. All the planets are in line. Those two recent big swells moved some sand around for the better that's for sure.

Re: Where did you surf today ?

Maroubra mid-north bank. Flawless walled up righthander running all the way to the beach. Surfed the 6'4 single. No snaps or vert reos etc. taking off just behind the peak into a high trimline then cutting down the face and back into the bowl as needed.

Re: Where did you surf today ?

Clean 2 foot peaks. Aframe take offs into great little bowl running all the way to the beach. Surfed the new 6'4 single. Managed to get two barrels on the one wave on the shallow inside bowl section as it drains out in front of the rocks. Probably the first time I can remember that happening at maro...

Re: Just general surfing stuff

Super light boards suck as soon the surf is over about four foot. Particularly if there's any wind or bump to contend with.

Re: Where did you surf today ?

Haven't been out since Sunday but will go tomorrow. Hope the swell has shifted some sand back into the far north end. It's been fat straight and deep in there for a while.

Re: Surfing World Camp at the Farm 2017

I'm envisaging a big south east swell will arrive when it's on. And the crowds of euro backpackers will wander around the corner to mystics on low tide to try out this new super cool surfing trend yar.

looks wonky, it was butter texture here.

Went from stiff offshore, to light offshore to dead sheet glass.
Yeah it was wonk city. Even where I was , was a bit wonky
. Glassy almost but had creases and wonks to it. I think you scored the best on the east coast today .

Re: Where did you surf today ?

Desert storm day ? Watched some fella get pancaked pretty hard into the trough at sandon, taking off at the deepest point. He was on some big rhino chaser. Tried paddling in, but got held up in the gurgle for a second or two, then pitched straight down the chute. It looked ugly. The inside run was l...

Re: Where did you surf today ?

Reef i wanted to surf wasn't quite working. Checked the next option nearby.' Slabbing ridiculously, exploding over almost exposed reef that's riddled with sea urchins, and had about a dozen boogers on it sitting shoulder to shoulder, so nah. Ended up on a protected outer bar. Peeling righthander run...

Re: Where did you surf today ?

is that all? Thought it might be bigger. Early on cronulla point had double overhead sets. See this https://www.facebook.com/235198163180299/videos/1629015720465196/ But I didn't get to it til 3pm onwards. Conditions had deteriorated by then. Strong cross-shore wind and directional south swell was ...
