Re: Midlengths

Instore in gerringong for $530. Here’s more on the tech.

https://www.torq-surfboards.com/epoxy-technology.html

To me, the shape of the board itself looks tasty. well balanced, instantly relatable and familiar.

But I’d be skunked if it surfed like a tuflite. Very tempted but.

Re: Midlengths

This is pop out looking but seems to be a decent shape. https://www.torq-surfboards.com/fun-68.html 6’8” x 21” x 2 3/4” And only $530 https://www.naturalnecessity.com.au/collections/torq-surfboards/products/torq-tet-funboard-surfboard Is the construction any good? It’s epoxy but hopefully not tuflit...

Re: Where did you surf today ?

Just checked it. Elliptical planshape with rounded pin and 2+1 set up. Should cover a good size range. Would’ve been ideal where I surfed this morning. Shifting take off zone, paddle hard, get in early and cover ground.

Re: Where did you surf today ?

Well there were two South East Asian chaps out in the line up. However both sounded about as blue collar Aussie and south coast strine as you can get.

“Jeez maate, aren’t ya fuggin cold in boardeez”?

So yeah, policy seems to be working well.

Re: skateboarding ...

Lol. I don’t skate much anymore. Haven’t given up but just don’t go that often. It was like every time we’d turn there’d be blood, broken bones, or concussion. Kinda off putting like you’re just wondering when your number is going to be up. Carving fast lines around a skatebowl is great crossover tr...

Re: Where did you surf today ?

South east facing beach south of the gong. Head to head and half high. Clean cross/offshore. The rights were short and sharp. Managed to get a nice little arm-drag to cover up on one. The lefts were walled up, tapering and reeling down the bank with a nice inside bowl for wrapping some turns. Maybe ...

So you’re free (or not) during 5.45-7?

I think I know where you’re referring to. Closeish by to you. I can think of about four spots that should have something

Anyone ridden an MC Red Dingo?
For half the price you could get the equivalent function and performance out of this. Red Dingo would be a fun board. But make no mistake, it’s a souped up mini mal :)

Re: Single fin shortboards

This is probably a nick Carroll question but - why the channels running so far up the board? Just seems that unless you’re winding the board out at top speed on a point break then all that’s going to do is limit the board. The Parmenter way of including channels, in the tail only seems more versatil...

Re: Where did you surf today ?

$1800 shipped? Yeah nah. My late 90’s stick has enough performance built into it already. Good rocker, rolled deck, low boxy rails, single to double concave, lowish volume etc. it surfs more like a shortboard than a mal. Knifey and response and likes turning. If it snapped, I’d like replace it with ...

Re: Where did you surf today ?

Wanda beach. Little wind effected but some fast overhead walls to tear down. Surfed the 7’6 MINI MALIBU so I could roll in early and take the high line covering ground, then link through the flats into the reform all the way to the beach.

I’d be happy to paddle that thing out 90 % of the time. Just cruise on smaller days, and lay down some rail on bigger days.

Love the look of the Bing Maui Foil https://bingsurf.com/collections/maui-foil “Made famous in 1970 when Bing team rider, Rolf Aurness, won the World Championship of Surfing in Australia, this model is a modern revival designed by Matt Calvani.
