Re: Just general surfing stuff

It does depend a lot where the rear fins are place tho', a lot are much nearer the rail than the stringer Totes. I’ve had both the flatter wider type boards with the fins out on the rail, and the rockered board with the mckee set up . I preferred the latter. But even still prefer the feel of a thru...

Re: Just general surfing stuff

Good. That’s what I figured also. And as for quads, I’ve had my stint on them and over them. Warp speed for beating down sections but not as much turning and less accuracy with turns vs thruster

Re: Just general surfing stuff

Yeah the rare bird looks nice for sure. But might go for something a bit narrower. and as thruster only (@ anyone - does the quad/thruster option work well interchangeably?)

Re: Where did you surf today ?

Arvo session south end corner. Were still some fun overhead bowls with good push and wall to tear down, but the wind has killed it now

Re: Just general surfing stuff

that looks heaps nice kaboo. plenty of old-school foam-hide in there and the curvier rocker would make that thing sing in steep sections. psillakis? i destroyed that thing yearsss ago. jesus it was a fun board at the time though, especially on backhand snaps. very webber afterburner (first version) ...

Re: Just general surfing stuff

Thanks Nick. Appreciate it. Understand the narrower board is better for more response though I’m a broad as hell shouldered ape and have found going a bit wider adds some more base stability (I could probably go 19.25). Might even have a chat to Stuart Paterson about a custom

I still have no idea why you don't live in the Botany unit and rent out the Bankstown house Iggs.
BIG difference in size and comfort, that’s why. And I’m not in Bankstown. I’m closer. Quick train ride to where AJ lives. Wonder what he’s up to?

Re: Where did you surf today ?

Steve. You’ll be happy to know that my trip to the beach this morning only took 22 mins. Only an extra 12 mins drive than previous for a property at less than half the price

Re: Where did you surf today ?

Dawn session south maroubra reef. Absolutely heaving. Lots of water moving with late critical takeoffs. 50/50 mix of wide shutdowns and peaking walled up runners. You had to pick your waves. Dead low tide and a few rocks to dance around in the trough. Surfed the custom 6’4 Stuart Paterson rounded pi...

Re: Bribie Island Board Riders

Steve needs a years worth of wonky reefs and semi close out beach breaks to snap him back into cold hard reality.
