Re: Where did you surf today ?

Boiling pot to national park at noosa. Hired a log and straight lined on long 2 footers. Fun as anything. How is little cove breaking at the moment ? Worth keeping a watch on. Had a crack at it a couple of years ago with Fong. It was breaking like mini Kirra . Grinding little barrels running all do...

Anyone ridden one of those Greg Webber Diamonds ? Look like a very versatile design.

Re: What shortboard

And while I totally agree with Natho about not getting too hung up on brand names or new boards or customs etc , by way of "design" something along the lines of the 7s salt shaker wouldn't be a bad option. http://www.surfindustries.com/surfboards/i_7S-salt-shaker-cv.php A board like that will handle...

Re: What shortboard

A thruster shorty for 4-6 foot junky sectiony beach beaks for 6 foot 2 bloke ? Just make sure it's not too wide flat or thick (avoid anything eggy or fish like) and adversely, nothing too rockered or low railed and refined (nothing indo step up like). Moderation is the key. Moderate rocker, not too ...

Re: Where did you surf today ?

The swell starts to spike a little late in the arvo. Sets were almost head high, with a fair bit of push to them. A bit wind affected and sectioning out, but still a few sprints and turns to be had.

Re: Where did you surf today ?

The little single fin again in chest high (hello ER) walled up ripbowl rights. Deep take offs from the start of the wave, with the first run of the wave being really fast and pockety, then easing up and deepening into a longer sloping wall, tapering off til the end of the bank. When you get the boar...

Re: Where did you surf today ?

This page: http://forum.realsurf.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=19245&start=180 Have only surfed it a handful of times so far, but in a good mix of conditions. It loves bowly barreling waves and lined up walls. Handles overhead, with ease. Doesn't like sloppy conditions or waves that section out or ...

Re: Where did you surf today ?

Some well groomed tasty righthand bowly peaks coming thru late this arvo . Chest to shoulder high range but shapely and running all the way thru. Had the little 6'0 single fin egg out, with the 7.5 fin in moved about half way up the fin box. It felt perfect. It's like the board has multiple sweet-sp...

Re: Where did you surf today ?

I guess I surf there maybe four times a year. I like Bungan and rock pools .

If I'm making the treck north, I instead just keep driving to the Central Coast . The surf up there smokes the NBs

Looks like I'll never bother with it then . Can't see it being factored into my bi-annual surf trip to the northern beaches

Re: Where did you surf today ?

Where do you mean? Are you talking the far northern tip before Bungan ?

If so, no. I surfed the left that runs off the south groin of bongin bongin bay. Where the pool and surf club is etc.

There was about eight or ten out. Pretty inconsistent. Ok when they came thru though.

Re: Where did you surf today ?

Lefts up the top end of mona vale. Bagged a few. Some ok ones. But overall too much current and backwash from the swell being too south
