Re: Localism

Some great replies lads. Pretty much what I was thinking has been confirmed. I think no matter where you are a long as you respect those in the water around you everything is sweet.

Re: Localism

Nah not a ruse Steve just a bit of a debate. I read about it all the time in various surf mags about respecting the locals. Mate I get hassled out of waves no matter where I go coz I'm an average surfer. I just reckon it's all a bit full on when often people don't know who a local is. I know my old ...

Localism

I am always reading and hearing about "respecting locals" and that's fine, but how can you tell if someone is a local. I surf at my "local" break once or twice a week and I see the odd person out there regularly but if a blow in comes from out of town I would have no idea. On the other side of the c...

I just picked up an xcel Infinity comp x zip 2 3/2 at Tonik in Geelong for $139. It is usually rrp $399 so pretty happy with that. It was actually tracks mag wetsuit of the year under $400 it a pretty comfy suit. Bit cold down here to give it a run though.

Re: Where did you surf today ?

Kinda glad I moved to Sydney. You sure :?: Reefs have been pumping down here since Wednesday and crowds are gradually thinning as the days go by. Had two really good surfs today.....4 - 6 and people spread out. If you're fit and motivated it gets easier each day. Looks like it's gunna be good...

Re: Where did you surf today ?

I know it's a public holiday and all but f##k me ragged......I'm never surfing Winki Pop again. It's like Sydney crowds but with colder water and red cliffs. The joint is seriously outta control these days.......... I reckon it would have been worse today. Everywhere from Bells to 13th was chokers....

Re: Booties

NIce little bump. I need to get a new pair of booties for winter down here in Victoria. Never been happy with the booties i have had in the past (rip curl e bomb & h2o odysseys) they have always been a bit leaky. I really want them to be watertight, i guess that is the whole point of booties but the...

Re: Where did you surf today ?

Went down to Kennett River yesterday, some nice waves coming through. As it was one of the only spots with a good wave it was pretty crowded. There was this one dickhead who just insisted on dropping in on people. I caught a nice one and he dropped in on me i called him off as you do but he just ke...

Re: Running people over... what's the protocol?

Protocol. - unless it completely can't be helped, the surfer paddling out has the responsibility to do so in a manner that doesn't affect another surfer's ride. - in the event of a collision, however, the responsibility lies with the person who did the least to avoid it. Now since the surfer who's ...

Re: Crowded point breaks

Had a week up at Snapper recently lucked into a few good days of waves. BUt i believe there is a new rule for dropping in up there that i wasnt aware of. Generally it was ok i was able to get my fill of waves, surprisingly given i am usually crap in crowded surf. But i found that guys basically drop...
