Re: Just general surfing stuff

This one of Margo’s is super cool and the dude rides a 6’8 and paddles.
The line he takes on that wave is perfection I reckon.

Re: Where did you surf today ?

Really beefed up on the beaches up here today. Some really interesting sand deposits around after the last swell. And for once the beaches out the front of mine we’re handling 4-6ft so I didn’t have to deal with the crowds. Surfed on my own for an hour and then a bloke paddled out and he got cleaned...

Re: Just general surfing stuff

This wave of Asher Pacey’s is mental. Check out how flat his board is and he does it with ease..

Re: Just general surfing stuff

I wouldn’t be surprised if Bendy missed misses the swell a bit, Wyre. If I’ve ever felt skunked over the years there. It’s always been on North Swells.

Re: Where did you surf today ?

It looked better this arvo than when I was out there. Looked to pick up a bit this arvo when I looked out the front. Did you park where I suggested? It took me a little while living up here that rather than do a Beans and drive around looking for an elusive parking spot at Snapper. Now I park in a b...

Re: Just general surfing stuff

Surely that’s the reason that the Superwank is the best example of a successful man made wave? The ability to pump sand at will.

Re: Just general surfing stuff

The Palmy reef isn’t anything to write home about. But it has created an environment for better banks. The same as Narrowneck. No one surfs the “artificial reef” but there’s always decent sand around that area.

Owl, Reno, Larry, Gerry, Tom, Nick and Loofs are sorely missing from this list.
Larry is there but where is Buttons?

Re: Just general surfing stuff

Really. Ok then. I knew that Lynch was a pioneer and everything but I thought that MP was regarded as untouchable at the time.

I also endorse Dane being included. No one other than JJF has grabbed me as being so far ahead (on pure ability) than those two.

Re: Where did you surf today ?

Yep. I’ve had a couple shaped by him as we as a couple of his mass produced ones up here. They all go insanely well but the ones from him last longer and are obviously much more special. I gave one to Skipper I think?

Re: Where did you surf today ?

Yeah I went for a paddle in two foot cross shore crap. Surfed for about 45 getting a few grovellers and then a larger one came through that had a couple of crumbling sections to hit followed by the last turn were I got a bit of fin release. It’s funny but that one wave made my day and it waist high ...

Yes, a Pom. But very much an Irish Pom.

Re: Just general surfing stuff

So the value of old items rests on scarcity and provenance. If it’s a famous surfboard from a famous shaper made at a crucial time and ridden by a famous rider type thing. So an old mal will probably last a lot longer than a HPSBoard simply because of how it was made. Beans mate. You’re not that si...
