Re: Margaret River Pro 2018

Medina's on the record for disliking the Margs comp. He doesn't like the Box and is not a fan of main break. Not sure of his view of Nth Point other than "it's tricky, you know". Has only recently decided to like Bells, having spent some time to get to know the wave and reversing his earlier views, ...

Surfed the monthly Mal club comp this morning.
Got a second.

Oddly, I do better in the over 50s group than the over 65s.
Fcuking go Trev.

Post some pics, otherwise, you know, it didn't fcuking happen. :-D-:

He was masterful in the way he surfed that heat though. Controlled it outright from start to finish.

Re: Margaret River Pro 2018

How come John John didn’t stand up on the wave he caught in? He got all these sick barrels, snapped his board then came in like a backpacker at Bondi Shearer! I demand an investigation! Also Toledo was shit Chill MS. After each heat, competitors from the finished heat are not supposed to "surf" wav...

Re: Where did you surf today ?

Down the coast at a swell magnet beachy. Plenty of closeouts but the odd one with a corner, none of which came my way. Crowd factor's off the charts. Eloura board riders also set up tent (wtf they doing down here?). Beautiful conditions, 3-4ft glass. Got 5 close outs and went in.

Re: The Good Luck A Number One McCoy Thread

The faster you go the more the board sits up out of the water on the dome and the looser they get. Its an amazing feeling. You're not going to get it in average conditions, but in bigger, faster waves they really turn on. That sounds kind of strange Cranked. As a board gets faster i generally want ...

Re: The Good Luck A Number One McCoy Thread

Don’t overthink it beany. They’re surfboard shaped surfboards that ride pretty much like any other surfboard. Width and thickness make them a stable platform and the soft rails mean they’re pretty forgiving. I’m not terribly convinced that the emperors new dome brings much to the party but they’re ...

Re: Where did you surf today ?

had a body surf at newcastle beach today. It's somewhat like the bondi of Newcastle geographically i guess. There was a sum total of 20 guys spread over 4 different peaks, both reefs and sand banks. Lovely little 2 ft swell and offshore. Felt like Bondi 40 years ago, but better. https://i.imgur.com/...

4hrs in the surf today. Kept saying to myself I’ll go in when the N/E wind kills it. Wind didn’t get strong enough. Had to have a little nap when I got home.

Re: Where did you surf today ?

down the coast 3-4 foot and a few double overhead beach break A frames. Swell had some muscle this morning. It was glassy, no wind until about 11am. No currents or sweeps, just warm clear water and these punchy E/N/E sets. 6 of us, spread out along the peaks. was pleasant.

Re: Where did you surf today ?

Southerly hit about 10.30am on the sth coast and smashed the 4ft wonky swell. Wind and rain should be hitting Sydney around 2.30 or so.
