north coast has a better, more wide open swell window.
Agree. Not so many slabs but better waves all round (as SS notes) and the beachies are generally superior too.

Plus, it’s where I surf so stop pumping it up Coops or I’ll let down your tyres next time you hit Mystics :-D-:

Re: Mentawai quiver.

How did you find Scarecrows?? Fun, rippable, challenging, occasionally hollow, flawed. Very flawed. Needs perfect swell direction and currents. Super sectiony and short walls generally. Some strong currents wrap around that corner. The reef is beautiful, hadn't been blasted when we were there. The ...

In fact, with 600 grit the handle is so smooth you could slide it up your arse and not feel it till it ruptured your stomach.

Re: Where did you surf today ?

didn't surf today, n/e smashed it pretty early and the crowds were majestic before the wind crashed the party. Did see a solid 6ft freak set close out the whole north end of the beach though, which was a bit of a surprise. Didn't surf the day before either, tiny onshore slop. The day before that i s...

Re: rear quad fins symmetry difference

How much difference between 80/20 foiled and symmetrical foiled rear quad fins? For a short fattish rounded pin _ sorta hypto krypto like shape. The rear Futures boxes are McKee-ish placed. For waist to head high surfing. Bombo - unless you rip the fcuking bag out of it, i believe asking this quest...

Re: Where did you surf today ?

Couple of waves at Bendy today, an early and a late. Was slow and busy in the morning but the swell kicked to overhead on the sets. Water pretty cold. Some long rights if you got lucky. Checked it in the arvo and it glassed off, no one out. Even better. Bumped young Sean Mawson on the track who was ...

Bethany Hamilton rips.
She sure does. I have some footage of her surfing macaronis from 2006. She had a handle on the front of her board then which she used to grab and push down to help get entry into waves. She had late takeoffs mastered.

Have you had any juice this week? Did the swell from that fetch turn up?

Re: post your modern day sickness

What dims channels? Got one of those a little while back. Bought it as a step up - 6'4". Have only ridden it 3 times but I'm not sure about it, feels a little weird, super stiff, rides like it's a 6"8". Looking at it i anticipated it would be a consistent feeling straightforward step up from the boa...
