Re: Where did you surf today ?

First surf, Jigama, mild mellow uncrowned and small, paddled out and had just enough strength to get three waves. Each was an improvement in lessening wobble and increase and returning skill. Rode the last to the sand and wearily waddled up to the car. A start and I am pleased , and was excited. Tom...

Re: Nth NSW sharks. Can they p!ss off already?

Now to tie it all together! There is a large population of counter culturists in the hinterlands , some of whom surf. The cuttagee crew migrate to Byron for the cold winter months and revert to south coasters for summer. There is a whole art scene from Tilba to Pambula that wavers and waxes and wane...

The surgery went well but had a major heart event in recovery ( Atrial Fibril...

They are coming south!!

Maybe it's the warming water , maybe the whales coming back, maybe it's about to become an annual phenomena (Tathra's in February). Now a large bull shark has been sighted at the very back of the Merimbula lake a number of times. They have been there before! Given there is a fish cleaning platform m...

Re: Ask Carroll

Thanks for the response Nick, Saltman. I think you have hit the nail on the head re my thoughts on where drinking sit's with me and that's where I am finding I enjoy social situations without booze and tend to only drink to kill boredom and occasional loneliness when away for work etc. Pulling the ...

Re: Ask Carroll

Nick, say a bloke was invited or found himself spending time on the Amalfi coast and Sicily and wanted to blend in but not present any outward colonial idiosyncrasies. What would you recommend for the wardrobe? Well if you mean yourself shearer, I will avoid the recommendation I might make to, say,...

Re: Where did you surf today ?

You called roti didn't you? I saw evidence. He would have enjoyed his namesake swell, but you had to be there before its arrival. The Baa ferry was stopped due to the swell coming up it's route. I would not like to be on any ferry that goes down but that one would guarantee 100% casualties. no oute...

Re: Knee damage

Nothing like being a retired Chiropractor, and having to apply your own treatment to yourself. Take that, and that, and that! 14 weeks out with medial co-lateral ligament small tear, = the usual and expected damage to the medial meniscus ( cartilage) So what is a self chiro treatment. First step, re...

I went Garuda to Jakarta then Padang , surfboards flew free but required a terminal carry through transit no automatic link up of luggage.
You do get to fly over Anak Krakatau, son of Krakatoa! That was a plus for me!!
