Re: Which board do you hope to surf tomorrow?
with my 5'10" rounded pin savagely fin chopped, i had an easy excuse for declining to enter the water this weekend....bondi, tama and bronte were unrideable all weekend when i checked. but i didn't get down there super early. bronte cleaned up a little around sunset on saturday. but god knows how yo...

Re: Where did you surf today ?
that sux mate...not fixable hey ??? it's fixable...but will require a better hand than mine to repair. the MORE will ride the wild waves again, once i chase up $120 or so for the ding doctor. Skip is fixing dings. He'll be cheaper than the cnuting ding doctor and provide more fulfilling conversatio...

Re: Where did you surf today ?
had a good surf in clean waves at bronte this morning for a couple of hours. i also met another kneelo out there! but it all ended badly --- 8cm fin chop through the rail on my favourite board. it was my fault. i was sitting in a little to catch a small one back in. a bigger wave came and three peop...

Re: Where did you surf today ?
ledge's photos insired my to try an afternoon surf... just after high tide, stiff onshore and a massive rip with waves going every which way. i wouldn't say it was my worst surf ever, but that's only because i didn't get whacked unconscious by my own board.

Re: Red Bull Cape Fear - Cape Solander Surfing Comp
there will be thousand of people tramping through the national park and a shitload of equipment. that's exactly the problem. exclusive use doesn't mean only 15 people and three go pro cameras. ever seen film shoot? it will be a fullblown circus. it just means redbull can charge people and make a pro...

Re: Red Bull Cape Fear - Cape Solander Surfing Comp
Unless u actually surf the joint there's no point getting all up in arms about any of it. U May as well get upset about clubbies taking control of breaks. It's pointless. If these crazy mofos wanna risk their necks surfing that joint, then let em get paid. And Don't drink Red Bull if u don't like t...

Re: Brazilian surfers
surfing in sydeny is fine...people know how to surf in crowds and generally don't drop in. anyway, any wave of note up the coast is more crowded than sydney. the points are just ridiculous. but you're just looking on the downside. think of the upside to drop-ins...once someone drops in on you, you h...

Re: Where did you surf today ?
double overhead is big enough...especially with a long period swell. i met skipper at the south end of bondi this morning. skip gave up pretty quickly in the one footers. i persisted and managed to have an uncrowded surf using my tricky going-left-toward-the-rocks-when-everyone-went-right manouevre....

Re: Where did you surf today ?
i imagine that in more powerful waves, especially the monsters you get down sw victoria, it wouldn't matter a hoot. perhaps in piss weak waves, where it's touch and go getting on, hands on the rail might be enough to collapse the wave or slow you down just that fraction needed to get going. i will c...

Re: Ask Carroll
rail grabbing on pop-up, good or bad? I have no idea why you would do this. I mean if you were attempting to stand up in a normal situation, you wouldn't automatically grasp at something near the floor would ya. That would be counter-productive. It's in the context of another thread. petulance was ...

Re: Where did you surf today ?
pp, pretty sure Legion is equating the hand with the foot. So, if you're a goofy, left hand grabs the rail and right hand on the deck. Makes sense for the rotation and for grabbing rail on backhand drops into barrels i would be a goofy... if i wasn't a kneebaorder. given i'm not even getting to my ...
