Re: review of Mccoy Astron Zot

Here's another problem with high volume short boards, that fat round rail will suck you up the face of a solid barrel like 15 yr old chick suck starting a Harley. Big round rails have an amazing amount of 'stiction' in the face. To see how much, put the curved face of a spoon into a stream of water ...

Re: review of Mccoy Astron Zot

. I'm 54 and weigh 69kg and average surfer. Damn - there was me thinking you were early 20s, blonde hair, goofyfoot... I get the impression the Biscuit you ride is a single? I've only seen them as tri fins. .Which brings me onto the comparison between the Zot and the Potbelly; presuming you w...

Re: review of Mccoy Astron Zot

You guys looking for snaps as well as paddle power should look at the merrick biscuit type of board, and I'm willing to lend my 6'2"x211/12x3" to anyone in the area if yur interested. Check utube for footage of these things doing the do. Nothing against Geoffs boards, I just like a modern bottom in ...

Re: review of Mccoy Astron Zot

Well imho mcoy is a Designer/shaper who sticks with his ideas and theorys. There are other 'shapers' who basically hang on these guys shirt tails and pick up the dregs. There are actually very few designers in the surfboard industry and a a lot of so called shapers need to have a good look at themse...

They come with futures boxes, apparently because Machado is sponsored by them. I ordered mine with FCS cos I'v got shitloads of them and no futures at all.

Re: Gravy

I'm glad you posted Prids, you confirmed my point, you make em for the love of it. They sell cheap OS made boards at the same price so they can make money, maybe so they can afford to keep playing with unpopular designs and experimenting? By the way, I'v orderd the Gravy 5'11'', I'll let you all kno...

Re: Gravy

Few! less than $300! Okay muskil riddle me this. If they make a board that sells for that price how much profit is there? Okay, for arguments sake, lets say they make $100 a board. Three people working need a wage bill of...say... $800.00 each net, thats $2400 just for wages each week. So they need ...

Re: Gravy

Snapped an SFD duckdiving, not to impressed after 4 weeks usage. Had a go on a mates 5'11'' SFD quad the other week and was a nice board, very fast and fun, but just can't find it in myself to buy another. Brads (BMD) boards are very popular and quality has improved out of sight. I have heaps of mat...

Re: Gravy

Thanx muskil. I'v had a few local made boards, some good some bad, but for the most part just ok. My biggest gripe with local product, at least around here, is that they are worth f'all second hand.Pay $600 for a newy and even a coupla months later they are worth squat and you may as well give em aw...

Re: camper vans/campers at local

Turn up at 5:30am and talk really loud about the waves, footy, cricket, wind direction etc. that gets em peering out the fogged up window at you. I was sitting on the local with my topless misses one reasonably warm june day and these two girls come down the beach chatting away. They sit not far fro...

Re: Josh Dowling Designs

Hey L&B, sounds painful. I was thinking of getting it done, please let me know if it's worth it mate.(the ear, not one of Josh's boards). Josh, when planning a new logo, go for the simplest one possible and the one with the least initial impact, these are the ones that will creep up and stick in you...
