Ningaloo reef
Thanks for watching Principal. When we were there the swell was small but still massive on the reefs. I was told about a break 20 ks south of Exmouth which has the most unbelievably long right accessable only by boat .but I didn't get to go to it. The left in front of the lighthouse was a long paddl...

Surfing an Olympic Sport?
How lame does this sound? "SURFING'S re-entry manoeuvre to the Olympics has gained momentum with the support of AOC president John Coates, who praised its environmental and telegenic appeal and attractiveness to youth." http://www.smh.com.au/news/sport/groundswell-for-surfing/2007/05/08/117839031019...

MR twinnies
fong the surfers journal is pricey but the subscription is worth every penny. it sells in places like borders for 30 bucks a pop. it arrives really quickly after publication and in good nick. interesting that jim banks reckons his fish should be ridden same as your height. I'm 6'5 and have ridden fi...

MR twinnies
The most recent Surfers Journal has a great interview with MR by Andrew Kidman. He talks a bit about how pleasantly surprised he's been by the revival of interest in the twinnies and how much fun they are to ride. Hey 100th post!

Overcalling waves
I've always thought waves are measured from the back is a dumb idea who the hell can tell how big they are, unless, as Nick C says, you're missing out?

The level of journalism in Tracks, ASL and Waves is deplorable. Who writes these things? A 16 year old? Thank you AGAIN! (tosses his hair back...then recalls - damn! - he has none left to toss.) You could get a rug an toss that around willy-nilly. **sigh** so ... does anyone know if stab exi...

Early 80s thruster better than fish?
Great thread. I've looked at old 80's thrusters but few seem to be longer that 6'3. What gives? Were folks shorter then? For what it's worth I got a custom Simon Anderson 813 about 6 months ago (almost a replica of the board he rode at bells in 81). It's a v bottom thruster and probably the most wel...

Dick took the template off a board that alex kopps brought out with him and think it has much of slight S but is very foiled at front and back. will take up the placement ...
