Re: Who's Afraid of the Big, Bad Slater?

No....no....no....I want Slater to keep surfing til age 65. If the rest of the crappy tour are too lazy to bother turning up for contests why would slater stop at 10. Keep going, otherwise the whole thing becomes irrelevant. The only reason I follow the tour is to be a witness to slater winning 10. ...

Provoked shark attacks!!!

I saw the following article on the RS site recently: http://www.realsurf.com/2010/03/06/shark-attacks-vs-victims-activity/ The articles like these always talk about unprovoked shark attacks. You never hear about the provoked shark attack. Are there any provoked shark attacks and are they ever report...

Re: Speed Fins for sale on Grays Online

Hmmm.... this looks a bit like Speeedfins new owners selling this stuff to me... which is a bit of a shame if that's what they're doing to shift product. I've talked to them and they're good blokes... believed in the SF system and didn't want to see it die when all the Speeedsurf debacle all but su...

Re: Byron Bay Carnage

What about a booking system like a dentists office. You call the Manly Council and they have an appointment book for surf spots throughout the day. The day could even be divided into beginner, intermediate and experienced surf sessions. When you book they give you a code which you then give to a ra...

How do I remove paint from my surfboard

I recently bought a second hand Geoff Horner 6'11". Interestingly the top 1/4 of the deck (from the nose) had been painted. I thought it might have been snapped but discounted that after giving the board a good look over. The guy reckons he painted because there were some flowers on the deck spray j...

Re: Dimple Bottoms ???

Phazers / Dimple Bottoms were pretty popular in Hawaii during the early 1990's with the windsurfing/wavesailing crowd. Ed Angulo (shapping legend who started out years ago shaping surfboards and then started shaping wave sailing boards) was producing them. He had another shaper working for him calle...

Shark attack in the harbour !!!

I heard som stories this morning about a shark attack in the harbour near Woolloommoo.

Apparently a Navy diver was in the water at some point this morning and subsequently attacked by a shark. From the little I know he/she is in a critical condition in hospital.

Anyone heard any more about it ???
