Re: Knee Injury
There's been a recent change to Sports Medicine Doc's and they are now classed as specialists meaning you will need a referral unless you want some serious bills. The Australian Government has listed Sports and Exercise Medicine as a new medical specialty, the first new specialty in 25 years. While ...

I'm not sure I buy the whole Owen got robbed conspiracy theory either. KS looked like the winner pretty clearly to me. If anything I reckon Owen has been getting the benefit of a number of close calls since stepping into the limelight in Tahiti. J-Dub smoked him clearly in NY for mine but the judges...

Re: Clubbies who surf: a conflict of interest?
I know a few of the pro lifeguards for Warringah and most of them can surf rings around me. I doubt there would be many professional lifeguards who aren't competent surfers as you've got to be a very good swimmer and pretty handy on a rescue board to even have a shot at getting a job. Like Boo said ...

Re: J Bay Pro - No Dane
What does Kelly owe the ASP? They've been riding on his coattails for the best part of two decades now. Don't forget, it was only a year ago that he was trying to organize a rebel tour outside of the ASP to promote a better product in better waves. So what does the ASP do? Revert to crappy beach bre...

So no Rip Curl from King of Watersports? Sure makes that Xcel suit that doesn't have a shipping restriction on it look pretty sweet.
Idiots!

Re: that wetsuit discussion...
I've just run into the same problem at King of Watersports. My order for a new E Bomb is currently "ON HOLD". Just noticed the fine print that recently appeared that they can longer ship to Oz for Rip Curl suits. Still its easy enough to go via a UK mail forwarding service. Its not a ban on Australi...

Here's some shots from the ASL website.. Geez I don't think I'd wanna fcuk with Stone let alone Sunny... http://surfinglife.com.au/news/asl-news/5939-7000-fightin-words The "local" may well have got what he deserved but it hardly looks like Sunny's kid was having any sort of hassle at all. Re: The Floods
Fong given that there was almost twice as much rain falling in Brisbane's catchment as the 1974 flood event and yet the 2011 flood peak did not reach the 1974 peak, how would you explain that? 74 was a totally different scenario with TC Wanda slamming into Brisbane. A major part of the flooding was...

Re: The Floods
The media look for negative stories or try to make up some narrative that suits their purposes but the real story is people forgetting their differences and helping each other out. Its stupid to bang on about dams and government mismanagement in the middle of a catastrophy. Actually there seems to ...

Re: Dane Quitting Tour/Sensationalism?
STAB - yawn (they need an emoticon for that). So Dane mentions that he's not sure if he wants to stick on the tour because he can't see the point of it, yeay after year. Did he say he's quitting? No. Sounds like a bit of a beat up really. Turning a few random thoughts into a big article complete wit...

Re: Who's Afraid of the Big, Bad Slater?
Jordy is the only one who can save the tour. He needs to smash the next two events and he should be publicly sledging KS for being soft. He should be out there with a campaign encouraging every surfer to smash KS and stop him from getting a perfect 10. No one should get a perfect 10. KS needs to be...

Re: Spring. How's it lookin?
Yeah, I'm struggling to remember a Spring that could come close to this one. My local was pretty close to all time this weekend, particularly on Saturday on the low tide as the swell hit. Still throwing up lots of barrels this right now too. Lucky the surf reporters only got to see the crappy condit...

Re: Frugal rhymes with Portugal
I hope Rip Curl can get their sh1t together in time for the next one. No commentary, no scores, no nothing on the heats on demand -WTF? And constantly using the close-up camera angle is just annoying. Its interesting to watch once you've seen the wave a couple of times from a normal viewpoint but to...

Re: Frugal rhymes with Portugal
Is #10 a done deal for KS now? He can't claim it officially yet. With the eight out of 10 he has so far though, even if Kelly doesn't turn up to the next two events Jordy would still need to get a first and a second (or better) to pass him. Even if Jordy goes 1, 1 he still needs Kelly to bomb in bo...

Re: Frugal rhymes with Portugal
yeah, Jordy's given up, Dane's patchy. It's Mick and Kelly for the title. Remains to be seen whether Taj can step up or once more disappear into the wilderness on the Euro leg. Is it really a contest now? Kelly seems to have it in the bag when you consider that they get to drop their two worst resu...

Has the forecast turned ugly or something? Surely they've got better than that coming over the next 10 days? Why the hell did they send them out in 2-3ft fat onshore dribble this morning? YUK! And the judging? Pat G's 6.0 for a critical late drop and pull into the barrel then pop an air. Do they not...
