Santa's Present

Looks like someone's been asking Santa for a nice Xmas present. We may just have our first tropical low of the season come early-mid next week. Presently doesn't look like it has the intensity of a tropical cyclone, but it's certainly encouraging to see nonetheless. http://www.weatherzone.com.au/mod...

Does he still surf in the WCT? I thought he took his bat and ball and went home mid-season when he realised he could no longer win the World Title.

Cheers Nick, I appreciate the advice. Hopefully I'll be up the SC at that time to see for myself what, if any NNE groundswell has arrived.

Enjoy Hawaii!!!

Read between the lines what you wish, but next Friday should most certainly have some waves. Local winds look rather dismal mind you with moderate E/SE winds probably on the cards.

Don't torture yourself with those phantoms Don......to tell the truth I have looked closely at the great circle paths following this event.....it seems tantalisingly close to us. Close but no cigar I reckon. Steve I was amazed when I saw it on the surf forecasting models.....I would never have thou...

Hey Nick, I was wondering if I could pick your brains a little. I've noticed that some swell models are actually showing up some super long period NNE groundswell for SE Qld come mid-late next week (in conjunction with the slightly smaller and lesser period E groundswell). This NNE groundswell showi...

Drought relief finally looks well and truly over come mid-late next week old chaps!!!!

Nothing huge, but at least should have some very fun, underlying power waves, albeit very very long waits for the sets.

Shame you boys aren't having your SC Xmas do next Friday!!!

There could well be some drought relief on the horizon...........nothing huge, but still something way better than what we've had recently (including this week).

So is there gonna be anything rideable in Hawaii Nick or is it gonna be out of control? I'm off to the Solomons in Feb/Mar 09.....wish I was going this weekend and into next week!!!! Originally I had planned to hit up a little unknown ATOLL chain south of Hawaii next year but thanks to a particular ...

I surfed there on Friday 21 November on the outgoing tide (around 5-7am), but more out the front of the decks rather than up at the pocket. Swell (only 1.5ft, 2ft max) was getting drowned out on the high tide, but got better on the dropping tide. Not sure what time your BBQ is but you guys have a ma...

ps. Don, will there be anything? for Friday arvo at the BBQ? I can't see too much on the radar at the moment for Friday.....not much more than an inconsistent 1-2ft of ENE swell me thinks. May get some flukey weaker local NE windswell, but this all depends on how the NE seabreeze kicks in the day b...
