Re: that wetsuit discussion...

Pretty happy with my Need Essentials. But fcuk me, it's not even nearly consistent with RC sizing. Could probably have gone a small instead of medium. RC 4/3 is a LS There's been talk of my early(ish) career, young family, early mortgage mate grabbing it and me getting another. Truth be told, I wil...

Re: that wetsuit discussion...

I was a fan of the O'Neills - great fit, but I'm sold on the NEED suit. I didn't want to get a chest entry suit - it always takes a month or more to stretch the neck so I don't wanna gag during a session, but this suit had no issues. One of the best fits I've had. Longevity is obviously yet to be t...

Re: that wetsuit discussion...

Seems the sizing for height has been changed a little on the NEED essential website. Could have been a typo previously as the heights look much more inline now, however still big differences in the weight range .

Re: that wetsuit discussion...

Closed the curtains in the office and stripped down to try it on. What he did say was that the sizing pretty much conforms to industry standards and specifically cited O'neill. Well that sucks, because O'Neill LT fits me good but O'Neill L is way too tight vertically. Oneill sizing ( LT) fits...

Re: Josh Dowling Designs

Today was the third on Lenny. Yesterday was a bit more sizey so I opted for the drive of the Slayer. After about two weeks of absolute drought I was rusty, but the Slayer felt way too big. You've ruined me again. Today was only 1' or less but Lenny goes awesome. Such quick, tight turns. It does fee...

Re: Tomo Surfboards

The Tomo Nano is fcuken amazing by the way, best board I've ridden in ages, thruster or quad it's all gold. So Nick, was it definitely a Nano and not a Vanguard? Can I ask what dimensions you were riding and was it PU or Firewire? Also, I've heard rumours that Tomo's boards are now mass produced/sh...

What's your standard shorty dims Nick ? And how vertically challenged are you ? I'm 5'8" and weigh around 76 kilos, a bit more or less depending on water weight Surf mostly 5'9" or 5'10" x 185/8" x 25/16" thereabouts, I don't know the volume measurements These ^^^ are all pretty lifty boards with a...

Re: why go so short?

One thing this short , shorter and shortest revolution has done is confuse the fcuk out of me with what " a standard shorty " is anymore. Every shaper throughout their catalogue has the usual " ride this 2-4inches smaller, 1/2 wider than your regular shorty". My regular shorty used to be a 6"6 20yr ...

Anyone know anything about this board? Model, dimensions etc...? http://cdn2.theinertia.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/09/tomo2-414x400.jpg I am late to the whole MPH / Tomo thing. Just would like to try this one. I don't surf well enough to represent all the other crazy shapes. All I know Mr Leeds is...

Re: Tomo Surfboards

[/quote] Yes it was a Nano, Firewire, 5'4"x181/4" x 21/4" with a bottom centre stringer of high density foam composite. The volume felt ideal for me, I weigh around 76kg but am v surf/paddle fit. Can't quite recall but I think it was around 25 litres which is a bit less foam than in most of my board...
