Re: Sad Use of Aussie Flag at Cronulla for Aust. Day
with all the Australian Flag jingoistic t-shirts and tank tops and plastic flags and paraphernalia. so clif, why is the Australian flag "jingoistic"? I'm not talking about the "love it or leave" one (which is just trite and banal), just the picture of the flag on the t-shirt or a flag itself. I thi...

hey marcus, whatever you do make sure you set up and get agreement on the rules about pursuing personal interests like surfing and the freedom to do so before making that final commitment. I mean, it won't help, but at least you'll hold the high moral ground when she pulls the rug from under any agr...

Unless Mr. Walker was an exceptional athlete, living in the jungle with the Bandar pygmies and fighting pirates for 400 years certainly doesn't make him average.  so surfresearch. a couple of things I've always wondered about: from your research, who invited the Duke to Australia and wh...

I keep coming back to that one of deadmans. I reckon that is just one of the best pics I've seen. Karlos summed it up perfectly when he said that it looks ominous. Personally, I don't want to see the sequence. I prefer to speculate on, and imagine, what all the options of what could have happened ar...

The Point also had a couple of heavy enforcers, Rolf Rotten and Brisso. those blokes and a couple of others from that Point crew were bloody intimidating when I was a grom. saw Rolf one day swat a kid for some indiscretion and then paddle the kid's board to the inside and launch it on the next wave...

Hadn't ruled out Chicago. Is it worth a look? I'll be in the area. Chicago is, in my opinion, definitely worth a couple of days. especially if you're into great music. I'd pretty often head to Chicago for the weekend and the two musts on my list were a Gospel Brunch and the Blues Bars in Nth Clark ...

Google Earth does not recognise Ramsgate. Adolf Hitler escaped to Ramsgate from Berlin in early 1945. after living there for two weeks he returned to Berlin. 99.9999827% of Sydneysiders would rather live in Melbourne than move to Ramsgate. the other 0.0000173% are ex-Melbournians who know better. Geez flyman you've got some time on your hands there did I mention I got the clap from a girl who lived in Ramsgate. reckon it must have been in the 70's or 80's that Ramsgate Baths went. I also seem to remember that it was enclosed and heated in some part (not sure about that, or maybe it w...
