I’m with ya Skip. I ride to the beach without a helmet. Maybe 2-3 minute ride. There’s no way to secure it if you do take one anyway. If I was riding any further, sure, I’d wear one.

Re: Midlengths

Do you find the lightness of the sea-axe better or worse than the PU traditional boards? They are amazingly light. Sounds like its a 'better' btw, picked up a miller waterskate a few weeks ago and its so much better than the mccoy I had (both 6'10) (not to trigger anyone by mentioning a nugget...). ...

But is it sterile because of the personalities, the surfing or the format (or a bit of each)?

How did you test them - just stick them on a board and surf?

Re: Kelly's wave.

Rumours are that funding donated to a certain website would be enough to allow one RSer to surf it.

So, Nick, after getting it for free, do you feel like the $8,400 (plus booking fee) man?

Re: Strahan tassie

Digger, if you are going to shape boards and give us the BBQ photos of the finished product (ie when you put the board on the BBQ to show the rocker etc), you are going to have to do something about that backyard. Guys on here are pretty vicious when it comes to lawn care :-D-: Looks like a good pla...

Well, when he finished you would be at approx the 275m mark. I would be 50m behind you, if that’s any consolation

Re: Where did you surf today ?

I went to school with a guy who was the Australian schoolboys U18 400m champ (just looked him up, he ran a 47.5). It was quite funny watching him at school athletics carnival, he would win by 50m or more. He was also very smart, did law, joined a merchant bank. Now I’ve looked him up on linked in; w...

Bores the shit out of me. It’s like watching repetitive gymnastics. ‘But there is an Australian in it, so we will only show snowboarding for 5 hours and then repeat it the next day. No one is interested in sports that don’t have australians’ Ch 7 executive (Yes am aware of their much better website)

Re: Coconut Spray; The Niugini Experience

SP lager is literally the worst i’ve tasted in the world (after 12 years in the navy, i’ve had a few shit beers). Go the export variety and make sure you drink it quick while it’s cold. When I was flying to PNG in the early 1990s, we would take off from Cairns and as soon as the seatbelt sign went ...

Re: Midlengths

Friend of mine has a seaaxe, seems like a great board. Can’t believe how light it is though. She is a 66yr old who only started surfing 6 years ago, so that’s good for her .... But I’ve had a short (2 wave) surf on it and, based on that extensive experience (!) have recommended it to a few people lo...
