Re: Where did you surf today ?
Why would I be? You seem to have totally missed my point. I assumed your point was A week long comp at Trestles though does impact. There is no other Trestles that can be substituted. If the swell of the year arrives during that time then it's a very simple zero sum game. They win, you lose. I'm ju...

Re: Where did you surf today ?
Yes. Different to a golf course or tennis court. Thats my point. What do you think would have been there had the land for the golf course not been transferred to an enclave for the wealthy? A park maybe, some public housing, a bit of green space or a school perhaps. Presumably you are also outraged...

Re: Where did you surf today ?
When it comes to pro surfing, surfing as sport, what is almost unique about it is it's parasitical and adversarial relationship with the great mass of recreational surfers that it relies on. Wimbledon doesn't take anything away from a club tennis player; there are plenty of tennis courts. The Maste...

Re: Where did you surf today ?
For anyone here who gets caught in this situation: Do NOT reach down to try to undo your leggie. The waterflow will prevent it. Instead, flex your leggie leg, drawing the knee up into your body. This will bring the leggie strap within easy reach. I was also taught to have the strap done up so you r...

Re: Just general surfing stuff
It’s pretty obvious. A joule is equal to the energy transferred to an object when a force of one newton acts on that object in the direction of its motion through a distance of one metre (1 newton metre or N⋅m). Or in other words kg * m 2 / s 2 ; where kg is the kilogram, m is the metre, s is the se...

now you are spoiling it by being reasonablemarauding mullet wrote: ↑Tue Jul 17, 2018 12:38 pmVolume is really just another dimension to consider when looking at board dims, or to not consider at all, some people place more importance on it than perhaps it deserves.
Same as Kiljoules, it’s there, take it or leave it.

Re: Where did you surf today ?
Cranked, just remember all of these guys said the same thing about litres a few years ago. 6 years ago: Every real surfer knows the only dims that matters are Lx W x T. None of this litres shit, thats just ridiculous. Kooks. Pathetic value that means nothing and is completely irrelevant. today: do y...

What do you make of it? Water temps, whale migration? Fish schooling (or absence)? Sure only one year but looks like a pattern

Re: Midlengths
Do you find the lightness of the sea-axe better or worse than the PU traditional boards? They are amazingly light. Sounds like its a 'better' btw, picked up a miller waterskate a few weeks ago and its so much better than the mccoy I had (both 6'10) (not to trigger anyone by mentioning a nugget...). ...

But is it sterile because of the personalities, the surfing or the format (or a bit of each)?
