Re: that wetsuit discussion...

I just bought Xcel 5/4mm X-Flex for US $187 on Jack's. Will be used mostly for diving. Said they will deliver to Oz for $186...so got it sent via borderlynx which will cost < $50...free shipping to US addresses. Total likely to my door about $215 AUD.

Read the book 'Selkirks Island' before you go. It will give you an idea of the history of the island and is quite a decent insight into what life was like there before people settled. Cast Away with Tom Hanks is an adaptation of this true story. The first English novel 'The adventures of Robinson Cr...

Rumbo

Bathsheeba in Barbados does not just get good surf but is also a beautiful spot and normally quite uncrowded. One of Kelly Slater's 'top ten' breaks in the world which says something when its big. The country is very cheap once you are there and there are many other water activites to do. The fishin...

shaun if the wax is in a cooler bag then when you get to the beach it will be cooler than the wax on your board. This means when you wax up the board it takes the softer stuff off or just smears it instead of the other way round. Surely this happens to a few people. I have started putting the wax in...

It was a fair bit bigger just off the point and a lot cleaner than these photos earlier in the morning. Most guys out were locals, as in the pics and most of the guys taking photos were the kid's dads and mates so give em a go. Generally most of the c.coast was unsurfable (didn't see t.point) hence ...

If you are commuting look for a place near the train line. It will save you loads of time and driving to the beach is not far regardless (if you are in Terrigal you will have to drive to the beach that suits the conditions anyway). The commute from Terrigal is much longer than Gosford because of the...

there are also the purple people eaters. Small purple jellyfish that come in the thousands (esp about 4 years ago) and sting. Not as painful as blueys but after a while (or on ya face)...anyone know what they really are?

??

Camped there at easter around 96 or 97 and had a great early session on a couple of mornings. Maybe just luck by the looks of the other posts cause it was great when we were there (good enough to stand out in my memory). Hell of a walk moving everything to the site though.

Scourge

When I was first stung badly (Avoca) at about age 11 or 12 the pain was standard and faded slowly, but after about 15 mins my abdominal area began cramping and I had trouble breathing. Had to go to the club on the O2 for a while and it sorted itself out. Maybe happened because it was the first time ...

clear crusties

And you thought we had enough problems with the blue scourge and the purple people eaters. Now the clear crusties are having a go (hoping that name will take off).

Any marine biologists out there?? I wanna know what they are.
