Re: Hypto Krypto voted "board of the year"

I think the refined mid length could be the answer... Have you had a look at the Grant Miller or Mark Richards boards? I'm sure they could refine them up a bit more if you wanted. I have. Miller boards look too eggy / soft railed for my taste. I have fondled many an MR, but never forked out for one...

Re: Hypto Krypto voted "board of the year"

It's nothing to do with fashion for me. The opposite - the 'hull' type boards I've seen in hipster surf shops, 7ft plus, single fins with rounded bottoms instead of concave etc - usually v expensive - look very hard to surf to me. Not that I've tried one. I'm interested in mid length 2+1s with moder...

Re: Bali for beginners and intermediate

If you go wet season nusa dua area can be beginner friendly. Nusa dua itself isn't but there's a gap in the reef about half way up the beach which has reforms good for beginners, further up around mushroom rock there are some more user friendly spots, more intermediate than beginner. Dry season has ...

Re: Where did you surf today ?

^^

Nusa dua. It obviously holds v big waves, why not more surfed? Too hard? I've surfed it a handful of times and it's shifty and current is a bitch, and that's under 6ft. But still, big empty waves...no takers? Why?

Re: Help: DHD Double Shot + DHD Sweet Spot ??

If you are a semi competent surfer but you live an hour from the beach and only surf weekends you will honestly be better off riding a mini mal. Seriously. Try one and be honest with yourself. I recommend a foamie because nobody will take you seriously and you'll be able to steal waves from under th...

Re: Ask Carroll

^^ I've always wondered if anyone had tried testing like this i.e.: identical surface area and varied volume (or other variations). is there video of berts test? also, there has to be some sort of physics around directional flow across surface area in terms of planing and lift? you can't turn a surf...

Re: Building the ultimate trendy Mid-Length.

I don't think soft tops are all that bad a choice for average surfers in average conditions. I'm really glad I started riding my wife's a few years back, it's added something to my surfing

Anyway, cuttles, gotta link? I like seeing pro surfers struggle

Andy - how do we know they doped ? They confessed. If you are trolling to get a response of any kind, congrats. If not, I suggest the clinic on cyclingnews.com - but your post footer will make you look like a guy with a mini mal and all terrain sandals walking down Bondi road so pucker up

Re: Ask Carroll

Nick, you're missing something, the cyclists blood is so highly oxygenated through hi tech doping it's almost flammable. The resulting aerobic capacity means they only need to breathe once every 4 days - they will just hang out underwater sipping espressos and planning how to wind up Braithy. The on...
