I was in Tunisia a few years ago for work, and one of the local guys showed me some pics of a point break they have that's like a cross between a full-tide DY Point and Steamer Lane. There's surf on the Med for sure, but you'd be lucky to get 60 days a year there.

Rockin Rob's recommendation for getting some spanish in your vocabulary is spot on. Actually, the deeper you go in C.A., the more important it gets. Trust me, not many in Nicaragua or El Salvador speak any english. And I mean any. So gettin familiar with the language will take you far, much farther ...

Wisely the Aussie government has set things up so they don't become like the U.S. or U.K. Not that this is a bad thing, but Australia could definitely use some more culture from the outside world, especially in the culinary form. But that's a different thread altogether........ Mind, you, it's a lit...

Anglesea to Torquay? Where to stay...?
Hey -
Gonna be in Melbourne on biz the week of March 6, and the wifey & I will head out to the coast for the weekend.
Can anyone recommend some inexpesive places to stay? Or good sources for that info? Doesn't need to be on the coast, just clean and quiet.
Thanks - SC

Depends on where you arrive. If you're going straight to Costa Rica or Puerto Escondido (through Baja), you'll have no problems getting a used board (although half the boards in Puerto have been pieced together after being snapped...). If you're only traveling with one board, and you're flying the w...

Dial - Epic review! I agree it's a bit Cali-centric. Stacy Peralta, who directed Dogtown/Z-Boys was at the helm of Riding Giants as well, and I think for the most part he was just toeing-the-line on this one. The only bad move, besides it being too short and excluding RCJ, was including that wanker ...

Check-out the mayhem goin on back in Cali. This place has only been ridden a few times without the aide of a ski, and I can tell you first hand, it's heavy. Enjoy......

Beach Cruisers Anyone?

ctt - This next one in Japan is a real toss-up. Last year I totally tanked it, but this year I'm just throwing it at the wall to see what sticks. If it's a sloppy beachie, I'm goin with Noodles, the Hobgoods, Taj, Brucie and any of the other aerial nuts I can afford. Might even toss in the odd Brazi...

Hey Marcus - If you've got 10 mil and no squad, pencil me in for a mil, I can handle these guys, and we can spend the other 9 mil on a kick-ass Indo boat! I'm not sure you can make a team yet for the upcoming comp. They need to work out the new "surfer values" or something. Or, if you're only...
whats up with that what are all the other things
Jess - It's a kind of team comp where you pick your squad for each WCT event, spend only 10 Million, and hope they don't pull a Tim Curren and bow out early. The Real Surf Clubhouse is filled with Real Surf BBer's competing (fo...
