Yeah im seeing heaps of ads for it lately. Looks pretty epic.
A little more digging and I found some cheaper places to stay in the same area. Not right on the best waves but some other options anyway

Java - Central or East Java spots
Can anyone recommend any towns/surf spots to stay somewhere in Java? I'll have around a week in late Sept. Love the look of this http://www.worldsurfaris.com/surf-trip/istanaombak-eco-resort But id rather stay in a Losmen or cheaper simple place, where the wife and I could see some sights/culture as...

Re: Sealife
Seen the turtle that hangs around Sth Narra plenty of times. Plus a few seals, not too uncommon in Syd I think? Spent 3 months in Mex last year. Out at a certain pointbreak one day when in the space of 30 mins 2 people got speared by what we ended up calling 'Mexican death fish'. (no idea what the f...

Re: Sri Lanka or Taiwan in April
Im starting to think about putting Sri Lanka trip back to June/July Holidays. I know I would love the culture and food but really want a trip focused around surfing. Maybe if I can afford it I'll head back to Samoa in April for a short surf camp based trip without the other half, and save Sri Lanka ...

Re: why go so short?
this morning was another good example of seeing droves of shitty surfing on way-too-short boards. getting in too late, too flat, stop-start surfing, and not being able to retain a proper line throughout the entire length of the wave. the only ones retaining speed and momentum and a decent line thro...

Re: Sri Lanka or Taiwan in April
Thanks guys. Yeah I thought it was a bit of a shoulder season. Shame I'm restricted to travelling in school hols, although the 12 weeks off a year helps to make up for it

Sri Lanka or Taiwan in April
The recent lack of swell is getting me thinking of getting away for another surf trip. Just have a window of a few weeks. Keen to go somewhere with some interesting culture/food/etc, where the missus can have a nice holiday, and I can get some fun waves too. Has anyone been to Sri Lanka or Taiwan fo...

Spring
Is it Spring?? I've been in Central America for the last 6 months...but ive been keeping an eye on conditions back home...is it just me or have I just missed one of the most consistent 6 months of surf on the east coast? And by the looks of it the usual Spring dribble has been non-existent??? (Not t...

Mexico
Anyone been to Mexico and Central America in the last few years? I'll be there for 6 months this year and would appreciate any info.
Is it easy enough to buy a decent shortboard over there?

Re: Never been barrelled
It took me years, prob 2 or 3 years before I got one. And ive still only had 3 or 4 that I consider proper barrels. Had heads of split second cover-ups but...doesn't quite cut it. and im still searching for one longer than a few seconds. Used to ride a lid and got some amazing barrels on that. Ive b...

Re: Designs for front foot and backfoot surfers
That mkes sense guard. When surfing my fat-bat ill rock forward when going down the line but I think my weight is more centred than forward, using both back and front foot to pump down the line, where on my shortboard the rock forward while generating speed down the line is not nearly as pronounced,...

Re: Designs for front foot and backfoot surfers
surfers are either backfooted or rearfooted.  I dont really agree that those surfers you mention are HEAVILY front foot surfers. They def surf off the front foot more than some others, but they are still well on the back foot through most turns. Im with the people on the other thread who...
