Re: Resort Latitude Zero
Seeing every resort/camp in the Telo's is getting a plug here. Here is my local mates place, totally different end of the scale total budget roots style experience, about $10 (Rp100,000) per person a night for accommodation, food and boat travel extra, 4 guest max, me and others have been staying w...

Re: What boards DID you take to Indo?
Johnny runs quality trips on Pelagic, Garuda takes boards up to 9'6" on the larger planes, for a gun 6'10' - 7" is perfect. It sound's a lot quieter in Ments this year from previous years, many people loosing their jobs and staying home. Cheers Ken, we were initially going to book the Pelagic, but ...

Re: Surf magazines
I did what did you think Ken? Looks good mate, not too many adverts. I can see why most guys just check the online sites these days. The Inertia is a good website with plenty of surf news, their FB page is pretty good too. I just read a good book by Phil Jarrett " Bali heaven and hell" and thought ...

Re: Indo...is it worth it
Of course it's worth it, the place is so consistent and has such a variety of quality waves. If you are prepared to travel a bit there are still plenty of uncrowded waves around. Most people just hang at the main breaks, travel a bay or two away and you will get waves to yourself at many places. Not...

Surf magazines
What's your favorite surfing magazine these days, Tracks, Stab, ASL, SW ?
I haven't read any for quiet some time, and want to stock up for the upcoming season. After some good reading and humor and not too many ads.
I guess they would be full of ads these days. Please fill me in....

Re: Banyaks and Aceh - October?
Yeah it's the northern hemisphere so the winds are different from Bali and all that, the trades finish south of the equator and north of the equator above Simeulue the SW and NE monsoonal winds kick in, in principle anyway. You are right , The right can handle a SW but more ideal in NW-N . I cant wo...

Re: Banyaks and Aceh - October?
Iv'e spent time in all of those locations ( and about to head back there) and had some of the best waves of my life, October is getting a little late for Banyaks but still can produce the SW swells that you need and less boats, they guys running the show will know the spot that pics up swell, not as...

Re: Nias & Lagundri
It's always a nice place to hang out and surf but those are the peak months and plenty of people coming and going, i always found that if you stay a while and are not scared of set waves you will do fine. There are so many spots around the island that are uncrowded, the road follows the coast and it'...

Re: Mentawais Vs Maldives
This year will be interesting in the Ments as non Indo flag vessels cannot operate unless they pay the government a large bond or change the flag to Indo, i know of two boats that have pulled out so far, maybe a quiet year ahead
